Sorry to tell you but its the same ratio...
Count those teeth on the countershaft: drive gear is 42T; 5th is 46T. For ALL 3053 transmissions!
Oooops.... Tom , you typed faster! LOL

Well, normally one would lift the FRONT housing (cover) off of the case, not the other way around! The front bearing #6310 will remain in its bore; you can address that snapring later. A little persuasion via brass pin & hammer on the shaft end (with the nut in place!) while prying up - will do...
1st counter-gear looks much better now!
So drive- and 5th-counter gear were swapped already? Is that dirt I see, to the left side of 5th?? .... or some severely pitted tooth flanks? :?

Ron, there are always pros and cons to everything... Lubed threads are not dangerous... but a guy who doesn't know what he's doing - HE IS DANGEROUS!
My drawing was supposed to reflect what the general consensus seems to be, plus a big portion of old-fart's experience and some universal common...
1) I see no reason why a 11.00R20 (G177 or T831) would not fit nice on a MLVW rim.
2) I know that the Michelin 11.00R20 XL actually is a TL-tire (which "may be used W/tube")
3) I cannot guarantee that those particular tires - the G177 and the T831, which are sold as TT (= Tube-Type) - would...
I have been in contact with them 2 weeks ago: current info is that they have 18 of them! BUT.... unused doesn't mean NEW; I know that the tires at least may need to be replaced due to dryrot.

WM, guess there are two more waiting for you....;)
BTW, I'm also on the hunt... for a nice M1000. Just don't want to spend 150K, here: http://army-uk.info/news_company_detail.php?id=11

Matt, this should not be a problem at all: people who put a 350sbc (or its stroker version) in a FJ40 or CJ7 know that...
Try to find a HD aftermarket 4-row, copper-cored radiator (like this one) or contact this company and stay cool...! (I say copper because it is easy to repair....)
FYR, I...
No, he's still around! :)
Warthog: I wondered too.... since this would be for the 8.3 CTA engine, and yes, it's there: TM9-2320-272-10, page 0034, Figure 7.
Soooo... once again: RTFM!!!:-P

Edit: The TM mentioned above is from 2012. The one in our own library is an older version, from...
Aha... so what manufacturer/ production year is that "odd" one? Can you measure the total spring pack (stacked) height ...? (If I had to guess: 3.75"..... ????)
G.
There is no way to confuse them: 5ton springs are 3 inches wide while M44 series springs are 2-1/2".
All Deuces I have ever worked on had 12 leaves. The difference between models is in the thickness of flat-stock material used for the spring leaves. The gassers (with- and without winch) are 4...
:ditto:
Jim, just keep your eyes open.... tires like this one come up from time to time. 0-miles and usually these MV/T's are not older than 2008. Also, note the price, for a complete tire/wheel assy.....!
