I’ve installed many many rear seat bases, all the rivets are accessible, either from up top or underneath.
IMO,this is a bad idea, buy an airlift bumper and install a tire carrier and can carrier.
you don’t want a 125lb tire and fuel can inside your cab.
sh*t breaks for 3 reasons...
-old Fatigued part
-part pushed past its limitations
-improper driving
no.3 is the no.1 reason for parts failure on this truck
none of that makes any real sense, post pics of what you have...turret stuff is confusing, there are many variations, and once you start with m1114, it gets more interesting
completely disconnect the throttle cable, manually rotate the throttle linkage, does it snap back on its own to full rest? Does It still race when fully at idle rest? If so...your pump needs rebuilding.
I’ve had pumps fail internally and run away...so this is not something you want to take lightly.
You purchased a “niche“ vehicle, this same issue would affect any owner of a rare or exotic vehicle.
finding qualified mechanics to work on them and such. You don’t want to transport the truck to a shop that will do it right, you would rather find a shop locally so your not spending extra money...
Any M11XX roof can use an early turret...but unfortunatley you need a few extra parts “cha Ching“ to make it all work.
here is the good news, that old roof and turret support is worth a pretty penny, so that can fund your project.
FYI....OEM from the factory does NOT use any sort of backing plate, those Backing plates were only in the MWO kit.
I personally have installed hundreds And don’t use them.
I don’t know who you called, who you talk too or where some info you posted came from, but my apologies...you have been fed a load of crap. Ive done probably more hmmwv engine Installs and swaps than any shop in the U.S., have been for many many years.

the injection pump uses a TPS, so the shaft does not support the cam wheel for the kick down, this will require you move the switch to the injection pump throttle bracket and use the correct linkage to the pump to...
