Another 12 hour day of plowing and salt spreading. No problems with the CUCV's except the lighting fuse burned up in the Voodoo M1009 plow truck. Not pictured. I had a 1998 K2500 that the rear brakes locked up and I had assumed the rear went out. To my surprise I cannot see anything wrong with...
With a mighty vac pump you can pressure and vacuum. I did use pressure bleeders at the GM dealership. I just never had much use for one at my shop. I guess I never thought about having one. I have a lot of cumbersome tools that I never bother to use much anymore. But that is a great idea. I use...
Use a mighty vac and vacuum new fluid from front to back. It works perfect and you can bleed the brakes without any help. The mighty vac pump is about $100. and you can bleed the fuel filter without turning the engine over and check for fuel leaks and all. Very handy tool. The one I pictured is...
Have a great day. I knew you would take offense to my opinion on this. The cooler will do nothing is my point. No BS train about it. You want to do everything on the cheap. And that is obvious. Being cheap and owning an MV are oxymoron's. Don't over think my comments too much. I am being...
A few weeks back I posted about finding this Warn winch on a scrap steel pile at the salvage yard. I tipped the operator and brought it home with me. Being that I am not a winch re-builder and I wanted it fixed properly. Not on the cheap. I wanted a good reliable winch so I sent it out to a shop...
Just remember once you install it and the transmission goes south. That is another part that will need to be removed and replaced or flushed out once this go south. This cooler is not the answer to the current problem. I knew the answer that we gave was going to be swept aside. I hope it works...
Same old same old. I use dot 5. If the cover bothers you. Keep the cover marked dot 5. If you need one that bad and don't have 1 get back to me. I have one on hand used. Good Luck. Put all new bolts and slides on the calipers.
M1009 and M1008 do NOT have the same master cylinder. The hydro boost may be the same maybe. But the mounting adapter plate is different. I do remember that much. Do as you want. But flushing out a 30 year old brake system would just be the lines. The moving parts wheel cylinders/calipers have...
Sorry to say it does not. I drove one 4-5 years with a bad head gasket. Heat loss was the first symptom, over pressurized cooling system was the next and then steam from the left side tail pipe in damp rainy weather was the final and last thing before I removed the head gasket and had the heads...
I am thinking hydroboost. And NO the M1009 and the M1008 do NOT have the same master cylinder. And technically they do NOT have the same spacer on the fire wall for the hydroboost. If it were mine I would replace the rear wheel cylinders and the front brake calipers. Because if you have...
Anything is possible. if it where mine I would remove the heater box entirely and double check all the flap seals which are gone I am sure. And check all the duct work and make sure 1/2 the blades on the squirrel cage fan are not chewed thru or just plan disintegrated. Also pressure test the...
I think you need to pressure check the cooling system cold. See if it can hold 15 PSI. I suspect a head gasket leaking. Does it have coolant in the over flow? And if so does it seem to have more in the over flow after a 25-30 mile drive? Check that and report back.
Possible. Do you have a thermometer that you can measure the temperature of the coolant when it is hot? It could also be a rodent nest in the duct work or the fan housing area. Heater cores usually leak when bad. If both hoses are hot that means circulation is taking place. I would check the...
GM listed the interior color as Bronze on the build sheets. I have a SEMS can at home with the correct color and paint code if you want it. I will list it later.
Right under the dash behind the glove box and the other is in the center of the lower dash area. i have seen the cables get stuck and bent. Remove the control assembly and get the cables lubed up well.
I wish Rustystud was here. I didn't want to say this but I will. It is getting hot because something is slipping inside the transmission. I just picked up a 1998 Silverado 2500 pick up at the transmission shop and I ask the same question. I had to hear the same story the man always tells me...
