I don't think you are the only one confused. You make sure there is fluid in the master cylinder then bleed the air pack. You are right the master cylinder has the resevoir and rubber boot, the airpack is the other whole assembly.
I wouldn't say "great" but it is a very rare truck. When the A1's were reworked they pulled the 427's out and replaced them with the 465's hence, very hard to find today.

Looks like it only has one outrigger anyway. Call Hawthorne tractor in Lake City and ask if they will sell an outrigger off the M108 bed they have mounted on a M49 chassis. If so I could pick it up for you when I go there before thanksgiving and give to Clinto or Twright and Gimp could get it...
