I have an older MEP-007B its a 1981 I believe. I got it drained/dry it has sat for a few years. When filling the coolant I noticed alot coming out around the front most injector it was bubbling out. I couldnt find a parts breakdown tm for this gen I searched and it seems around the injectors are...
I have gauges that go full left when my 97 m1088 is running. My volt meter always stays on regardless of switch position and if I remove all of the relays. I was thinking I had a short somewhere under the dash or a bad ground causing a potential somewhere it shouldn't be. Does the older lmtv...
Yes weak batteries will cause solenoid issues on the 8.3 engine. Funny the engine will still turn over but the solenoid will have weak or no engagement. If you hold the solenoid back while soldier 2 cranks and starts, the engine running alternator generating should provide the needed voltage to...
I need a new shock too. It just so happens the shocks sit right in front of the brake cans and someone had previously caged the brake but had to put a big dent in the shock to do so.
You can take off the full screen it will unscrew like the cap. Big channel locks with some duct tape on the teeth works well. Then peek in there one of the flexible cameras works well. I have had numerous fuel feed lines go bad. Something could have gotten a bit stretched and damaged.
Dry rotted lines cracked sucking air, damage to pickup tube from bumping it, bad lift pump, could be just about anything in the fuel path. You just have to start at the tank and work your way to the pump.
The dash switch connectors are packard style like the light connectors. You can put a keyed high current switch in the side of the battery box to switch off the batteries directly.
Update. Got my 1088 tractor. Drove it. Brakes appear to work well. When lowering cab with stock wheels the cable foot steps catch on the front wheels but pop into place. If the tires were much taller I could see this becoming an issue.
I have never driven one. I do have one on its way to me. It's made to stop with a load I can't see how upgrading to slightly larger tires would make that much difference stopping. Especially with no or low load. I think it looks better with the larger tires. How does it stop compared to the m923a2?
With air completely drained from the system if the spring brakes still don't lock down and hold the truck there is something really weird going on. At that point I would bring it to a professional. I don't mess with spring brakes myself.
