Check and see if the expello valve bottom of air dryer is leaking if so insert finger push up. Your compressor unloader valve could be sticking also sometimes you can take it apart and clean it.

I have those 18k nordic ac units they dont take much power to run on ac. Its a bit more on heat though because its just a wire heater coil. I was running one on my 10k gen it barely registered on the load meter. I think you should be fine with the 5k gen.
