Vaseline, motor oil, and any other fluid except what it is working in will swell o-rings up un-necessarily.
I have some "o-ring grease" here, commercial stuff specifically meant to swell up o-rings, that is for fixed static seal on vessals for NG and JP [almost everything JP] but it does not get...
I built the very best fuel filter set-up for my Deuce and had zero problems.
That truck has the cleanest fuel tank there ever was. One of a kind.
I changed (renewed) all those fuel filters one time and never again. Lube oil filters too.
Turned out less expensive, like I am Mr. Frugal over here...
Imported fuel is expensive. 30 Bucks for three gallons and 120 calories a tablespoon.
I don't know what that is in BTU or octane or cetane but I know it fires good in the multi-fuel.
Almost nothing on the coffee filter I used. This is going right in the tank.
This is free post-turkey fuel. The...
Some use Diesel Kleen or whatever

Maybe just goto H~depot and get a gallon can of naphtha and put it with a full tank of whatever.

Hey, if they would want to play silly with my truck I would play too. Adjust the sitting idle to 1100 rpm and adjust the pedal stop bolt up. Under an engine no load situation why would I ever "snap it" above the 1800rpm torque peak.
Someplace back in the past times some were known to fill...

A a Deuce I put one in the cheapest I could as a test. When cutting open the filter to see I found the media did not breakdown but did get fouled with crud. It works.
doghead has that avatar ............. and lots more.
Maybe hundreds more of a guy in the Army.
I would like to see the original pictures.

Maybe change avatar weekly?
I a dreamer
I want to go there just to look and see and touch
OK, weird idea ...........
But, if I hit the lottery, I wouldn't goto see a pyramid.
I would go the world over to see all the stuff.
Put a coolant filter. Yes it is worth it. Are you going to keep the truck or NOT?
You will see when you cut the old filter apart and examine the crap filtered out.
Installation of a coolant filter is a decision. Protect your equipment.
All good opinions, I think you all answered the OP's question.
That onion farm, Minkus, has a standard buy order for M35A3 trucks.
And they make excellent drone videos.

jasonjc gives good advice.
Placing a heavy duty tactical military truck in daily service could work, but why.
You need no downtime. The truck has to work. This is for your business which is not pleasure use.
In commercial service one would find few that wanted to work on your M35A2,
aggravating...
