Agreed on the 1410, for all M44-series trucks.
Earlier production M35's have the bearing plate style U-joints on the transmission jackshaft AND the propeller shaft between T-case and 1st rear axle:

Nice place! Would another week be enough to see that alone...!?:)
John, you have shown genuine interest so far and seem to fit well into the role of a good tourist guide....?: imagine you just found a "sponsor" who wants to have you there in Duxford for a day at least; WITH your beautiful M35...
Guess I got to know her name already; starts with "T" ... sure enough she should be on that list of remarkable GL employees!
And you Papabear belong to the list of most helpful - nowadays hard to find - type of persons!
And I have a very good reason for saying this...!

Thanks for info!
Expecting to be in Cambridge/ Duxford area from 05/02 until 05/05, accompanied by two more friends (with one being host) and not knowing the exact schedule yet.
Would love to be able to meeting you there, but fully understand your (and everyone's) situation.
Sending PM...
Thanks and good to hear from someone who has been there! Figuring that that hangar alone will take more than a day to see all...!
Regarding fuel prices: I can feel your pain... we pay about USD 9.-/gal for what they call "low sulfur" diesel.

Jesse, I'm sure those three bolts just keep the PP assy. compressed so as to easily be able to install the clutch disk.
Keep trying, it should come off. Maybe sticking in place from excess paint...?
Oooops... Kenny, you were faster!

How about a little search-homework for "booster pump shaft seal"...? (about 10 threads, all related!)
Or directly go to this thread, linked to this other one, which includes my post with seal P/N...

Hello to our British SS-crew members: I'm planning to stay in that particular part of the (old)World, WED to SUN, next week. Including Portsmouth, also. Then visiting London and - off course! - spending a few more days at the IWM in Duxford. (hopefully they have lots of US green iron, too!)
If...
That would have affected the outer bearing first, not the inner; since normally water gets from the knuckle into the hub all the way through the spindle.
You probably need to inspect/ replace the hub seal, too - unless only the outer bearing has been replaced, 3K miles earlier...???

Hey, don't forget.....these "dogbones" are subject to working as trailing /pushing links only and NOT as torsion arms!
The newer I-beam shaped version are one piece, forged, while the older type is a 1-1/4" round bar with two forged eye pieces, welded on. Everything is mild steel and perfectly...
There's about 900lbs of very nice, recently acquired 10ton snatch blocks in storage..., and waiting for the next SS-transport opportunity, to get this down to Miami, or at least closer to it...
Will send PM for details.
Thanks,
G.
This is the best build of recentered 5ton wheels for the Deuce that I have seen so far and also best proof that in fact FMTV 2pc wheels constitute excellent alternatives to HEMTT and 5ton combat wheels, as base material.
Congrats, Ben! Great contribution, job well done and looking very nice...
I think you mean the large flange where the studs are seated...
that would be 11.02" O.D.
Otherwise, the next largest diameter is the axle flange, at 6.437"
G.
Well, the dimensions were taken from brackets laying around... but still accurate.
Fact is that our winches are 25-3/4" wide, (+/- 1/16th). Now the distance between frame rails should be the same for all, at close to 28" but actual variations or call it tolerances are relatively high.
