If you have an old tired 6.2, yank it and drop in a newer serpentine GEP 6.5 setup...you have bigger injectors, large IJ Pump, redesigned combustion chamber and pre-cup chambers. These motors make for a lot more felt and useable power.
Chances of a dealership are slim, this is an ancient platform.Just google turning up a pump on a 6.2, many hits on the subject.Beware, you risk burning a hole in your pistons if done wrong.Setting the timing is done per the TM’s, but it’s as simple as just rotating the pump to advance or...
TM has the schematics, all wires are banded with numbers.
when the ignition is turned on, the gauges energize..so they will jump, normal
oil gauge is
36A
58G ground
27H
The TM has all the troubleshooting guides in them, each gauge has one thing in common, they all have a ground, 24volt wire and the source wire.
assuming gauge is good, the main place to look is the connection at the sending unit, if your not sure it’s the right wire, ohm out the wire from the...
I replace a pump about every 2 weeks in the shop...every now and again, I get a truck that just fights me at every step.
last week was one of those times...the truck in question got a new pump and after getting it started had an injector knock.
i knew which one because it was the one I used to...
6.2 and 6.5 are the same unless you have a 4 speed truck, that harness has TPS connection and is missing the wire to the kickdown on the trans.
12339350 part number is what you need for an A0/A1 truck
Should not be any issue....I would check for a restriction in the hose from the filter minder to the air filter nipple.
if nothing, maybe even a bad gauge.
You don’t want the helical cut gears IMO, they are not as strong as the straight cut, only advantage is they are quieter.
the cost of the gears bears no fruit in the end...
Many many of these A2’s have bad fuel from GP, algae in the fuel tank, clogged fuel filters and now bad injection pumps due to the all of these previous items noted. The worst offenders are the Georgia trucks, haven’t. Seen it as bad on the Yermo calif trucks. I R&R the entire fuel system when...
The electric fans are just a bad idea, sorry...
those fans will never move the CFM that the fan blade will move...IIRC, the stock blade is somewhere about 10k CFM.
If you want to use them as an additional cooling, that’s fine, but not primary.
The OEM solution works just fine...
