Ahhh, a big boy, but yes, my driver now has a rig that can haul it.
Does it run? I have my own m1078 here at the shop, have some various parts and do work on them.
but I’m no expert by any stretch as my expertise is the HMMWV.
but I have fixed everything that needed fixing on them and have all...
What Greg said...use the Tach drive off the back of the motor, oil pressure gauge tap for power.
the pic of the instructions you posted are of the cannon plug A-pillar mounted Tach, that’s not what you have.
Yes and No...regardless of motor on a 3 speed, it gets the same harness, you must use a 6.2 harness.
The other engine harness for the 6.5 is with a 4 speed, the harness has TPS and such capabilities in the harness.
So you would not use a 6.5 harness from an A2 truck on a v-belted 6.2 or 6.5.
The pan would have to be quite distorted, there are a lot of bolts, quite close together to make any distortion disappear once torqued. I use a lot of used pans that when they arrive, are distorted and a little hammering gets them looking ok...once torqued, no issues.
there are several flavors of frame rails, 7700 GVW, 10.3k, 12k, W/O Sheppard steering gear, W/newer steering gear.
stick with a 7700 GVW rail. But to answer your question, all the holes are in the same spots, I just wouldn’t mix and match GVW rails.
I’ve installed so many of these pans I’ve lost count, none leak..never even had one leak.
are you using OEM pan and gasket? You should NOT be using any RTV.
I have 8 4L80 trucks....none of them leak from the pan. For some odd reason, even the new trucks don’t have a drain
plug on the pans, I put them on all my trucks while doing the first trans filter.
stock pan and stock reusable OEM gasket is what I use.
These pumps in the auction trucks “M1123, M104X’s” get replaced more then half the time in the shop...the trucks sat for 9-10yrs and the pump is gummed up. I sell about 4 a month.
Check the flex plate for missing teeth, if it just try’s to engage at times and won’t, “not grinding” that’s a bad bendix or weak solenoid, not enough power to shoot the bendix out far enough to engage the flex plate.
simplest solution is to just replace the starter...
