I suppose I shoudl clarify. I meant parts availability on the surplus market. Yes, the 6CTA parts are available...especially since it is a more recent motor and is used in many civilian commercial applications...but it gets pricey going to Cummins or other commercial parts suppliers. Compare...

I concur with BUILDER77...I bet the problem has to do with the tires. A friend told me he had the same problem. He ended up un-mounting the tires and found a folded extra flap inside one tire that caused this same problem at certain speeds. Just a possibility...

NHC-250 PROS -- parts availability, reliability, strong motor (not necessarily stronger than the 6CTA motor, but you get your power from 855 CI's, not the turbo) CONS -- does not like cold weather (it will always start, but you will need some ether), older design so it is not as efficient...

To be truthful, I am not sure what they are supposed to go for, but that is what I paid. I was told they were pricey by a few friends who are knowledgeable about HMMWVs. Check around on pricing and availability, and then we can talk. No worries... :wink:

I've got one with the mounting accessories. The bumper itself is a clean take off...the mounting accessories are new. I was told it was complete...and I bought it as such...but never installed it so I am not positive, but I believe it to be complete. If we find out it is missing something...

Try jacking the front wheels off of the ground. If the sprag is wound up, the front wheels should spin releasing the tension on the sprag. If the tension is not released, the sprag might fail (or might have already failed). I've never had this problem, but this is what I was told previously.
