If you want a HMMWV, save your pennies. They are available at reasonable prices (although "reasonable" is a relative term). The prices are not going any where but up IMHO.

I heard the M35A2 brought around $3500 and the M818 went for around $6500. Interestingly, I was told that GL waived the 10% bidders premium. Not sure who got the deuce, but I believe someone on this list got the M818.

RE: Duece dump M342A2 I can almost guarantee that truck will go through the roof. There is no way it should bring more than $4000-5000, but it will. I say that because I know where there is a 1973 M342A2 w/w in fairly decent shape. The guy wants $7K for it...but you can go test drive it.

I've been told that the 5 ton sprag design is much more robust and that is why it worked better and for longer. You still have the same "care and operation" issues mentioned previously, but the 5 ton sprag is more stout.

Yes, Kenny, Murray's truck was a newer truck with an M108 bed on it. He had it at Aberdeen last year and I'm not sure he ever sold it.

DO NOT put a plug in the open line. You WILL pressurize the transmission. Been there...done that. I replaced that valve on my first M813A1. When I got the truck, there was a plug in that line so, when I took it apart, I put it back together the same way. Thankfully, Jeff S. (Tactical Truck)...
