You have to measure the voltage under load with a multimeter you can't go by the gauge on the gen panel. When the voltage drops current will increase you will cook your stator I have done it. Does the gen bog down?
You can try lowering the fluid pressure. The adjustment looks like a kick down cable as you adjust and make the cable longer it lowers the pressure. Also switching over to allison dex3 fluid helps.

The plunger thingy? That's the fuel solenoid. If you don't have an external power source you have to manually push it down until the unit starts running and making its own power.
While it is quite fun to do that the 5 ton does not have any undercarriage protection and the weight of the vehicle doing the will easily tear tires on sharp car parts. I have a large sidewall gash in a tire luckily I have several spares.

I have 2 aux floods and 2 spots. I bought a piece of 3 inch hollow square steel stock. I was going to paint it, bolt it across the front grill right above the lowest headlight guard and mount the aux lights on it leaving some gap in the center for the hood pull. I was going to tap power from the...
There is a 10mm bleeder on the backside front top of the pump. You are probably air bound. Open that 2 turns and prime away with the hand pump till fuel comes out then try to start.
I wanted to do a plow on a 5 ton. I made an account on plowsite and asked about it but all they wanted to talk about were cdls so I have up there. I was looking for a plow that raised and lowered with system air not hydraulic. From the information I could gather, you need a big strong plow or it...
The regulator part on the end is replaceable. Southern auto wholesalers actually sells all the parts for the mil alternators. In my experience though, a bad regulator will usually cause high voltage not no voltage. No alternator places in my area have a setup to test 24v alternators...
I have a few Allison transmissions. They were intended for Oshkosh Hemtt use. They have a 24 bolt bell housing with approx 21 inch diameter pattern. Some are stamped HT740 and some are stamped HT740D. Both types have the same part number 23014539. The crates are all stamped with nsn...
I watched a friend do a liner in an 8.3 for me. I bought the sleeve puller/installer kit so he could do it. One cylinder had eaten a ring. There was no fluid mix. I bought the upper and lower gasket sets and a sleeve/piston set. Had to have the head redone. I don't know the 250 motor but I can...
You can probably just swap the regulator on the back. You don't even have to remove the alternator to do it. They are around 70 bucks new. I kill them all the time.

All of the TMs are available at the top section of the forum. I myself am not the best with the manuals it takes some fishing around. If you look in the parts manual you should be able to find a breakdown that shows the seal and bearings part numbers
