just as it should be.......and no afterglow, that surging voltage gauge and generator drives me nuts, not so much when cold, but on the nartron yellow labels it does it on every start up...hot or cold.
The GP M1123's don't have GEP motors....a GEP Motor is a GEP motor, but....the term is called "detuned"
the v-belt trucks got "whatever 6.5 mfg,be it GM or GEP" a replacement motor that was equipped with v-belt pulleys, water pump etc, to be a drop in replacement for the discontinued 6.2.
The...
A bad EESS will cause all sorts of unexplained issues...the list I have uncovered is so vast I can't even list them all.
people ask all the time, "want spare parts should I have on hand?" Well, an EESS box and TSU is the number one on my list. It's easy for me as I have about 5 NOS S3's on hand...
you never know, they very well started to remove the engine, or maybe it was cannabulized for parts.
to start you don't need the box...you need to energize a few items.
1.fuel shutoff solenoid
2.cold advance
3.8 glow plugs
The first two items will be a constant 24v, the last "glow plugs" will...
you don't need the specific seal drivers, but it sure makes it easy and takes any guess work out of it.
the tools are all over epay...
The easiest is to do the input and output seal while the hub is on the truck, makes for a stable platform.
The torquing is straightforward, the catastrophic...
This can be somewhat misleading, the newer spindle nut has 8 spots for foldable tabs, the old has 4, the new gets 2 tabs folded over the old only gets one....you want the new style.

Trucks got new motors during reset, many were done in Maine at the reset facility. Just depends on what program they went through, IROAN "inspect repair on as needed basis", or full body off...I have trucks done from 02-09.
many have rebuilt 6.2's. Look for an MMA decal....may or may not be one...
No fuel at injector means fuel solenoid is not energized....or major blockage in fuel line from tank to IJ pump.
make sure you have 24v to the rear center plug on the IJ pump, turn the key, touch the lead to the post and see if it clicks.
no clicky, no worky....
There are only 3 wires on a shifter, the one for the back lighting has a red tie rap on it, the other 2 are the NSS.
the NSS screws into the right side of the shifter and the wire protrude out of the boot, just unplug them and
loop the 2 wires at the harness back to each other, just...
it was a shelter truck, an M1097 is just a heavy variant. It's now a 4 man rag top.
being an A2, it has 6.5NA, 4l80E, 12k chassis and suspension etc....
US Engines is by far the worst company and product I have ever dealt with...period.
As far as the M1123's, I wouldn't worry about if you have a GEP or GM motor, just drive it.
Yes, the GEP is better, but if I were looking to buy a truck, the overall condition of the truck is more important than...
These can all be argued....I have worked on and Driven Dmaxx, I have a Cummins equipped truck here in the shop as I type. Everyone one of these has its own set of issues....beleive me.
