Get it from a trans shop that knows what they are doing...the TC on diesels is not the same as a gas truck. so you need to make sure it's the correct one going in....

    M1083 Bow kit

No takers on this....so no one has tried to cut down a set of the cheap M1083 bow sets and tried to make them work on an M1078?

    Bad CDR symptoms?

Unless it's a fording CDR, no way for fluid to get there. Brakes aren't vented to anything. Ps is ATF...but again, unless you have a fording cap on the PS..no way. change the CDR out...

Gordon this has been talked about before...and as I said before, unless you are buying genuine NOS parts, you are getting chinese knock offs...I WILL NOT use wolfer surge tanks or washer bottles...they do nothing but fail. as it goes for long idling and parades etc...you have issues with you...

    hmmwv white smoke

White smoke on startup is unburnt excess fuel...99% of the time due too bad glow plugs or faulty PCB/EESS etc... if it's still there after startup and driving at temp....more likely an excess fuel issue like a bad injector, bad pump, or worse....a blown head gasket. You first need to determine...

Old glowplug controller snapped off in crossover...

Old glowplug controller snapped off in crossover...

Old glowplug controller snapped off in crossover...

Probably a good idea to just remove it and replace the crossover....those threads can easily become buggered up and will fail or become a leak point. Easy to replace...you will need 2 gaskets for the crossover and 1 for the the thermostat.

    smart box/controller replacement

But when it does go, that glow plug controller will most likely wipe out your glow plugs in one fell swoop.

    M998 flexible brake lines

    Gear oil recommendations? Hmmwv

I suggest downloading the -10 as a start....those systems take different fluid types.

    M998 flexible brake lines

I installed a kit for a customer, IMHO They are not worth the effort, I have no real issues doing regular pad swaps with the old setup, IMO, this just added that many more parts and leak points to a system that didn't require it. i too found that line bent the wrong way, had to order a new...
