It's possible a cell is shorted...but not sure if this will produce the condition you are having.
let us know...the gen puts out what it puts out, so that should read 28.5 or so...refresh my memory, were you getting same at the batteries when you metered there...the 2 should be the same.
It's like anything...you have to shop for it. And you don't know what others have paid for it, so that really dictates there selling price. kascar has to stock literally hundreds of thousands of parts because they supply the U.S. Military, that forces them to buy at high prices to have inventory...
All I can say is.. you are going to need to be sitting down when you find see the price.

the good news is I see them on fleebay for 22.50 ea...
I thought we already covered this in you other thread...the only thing you need to trust is the voltage at either Gen or batteries via Mutli-meter, the gauge can be bad or bad ground or connection.
If you have the gen turned all the way down and cannot get it to go below 30v, the gen has...
These trucks have variable rate springs, not sure what version of variable that these have, but it's not like the m1097 days that required sandbags in the bed.
If you look at the springs, there should be a part number on the top flat portion under the CARC, also if its not gone, a colored tie...
The final price is perfectly in line with what it would cost you to build an M1113 from scratch...and these trucks are authentic. I'm building an M1113 right now for a cusotmer that is exactly as auctioned.
You have no idea how difficult and expensive it is to find a lot of the correct parts...
Ok, I went and pulled a 100 and 60... Here is the diff...if you go with a 100 amp mount, there are no threads on the bottom of the mount, it uses a longggg bolt, just like the 200amp mount, the bolt is 7/16x9.75in
60amp uses "2" 7/16x2.0
so it will work....and like the 200amp, it's easier to...
The part number for a 60amp is 5597344, the part number for a 100amp is 12342036.
i don't beleive they are interchangeable. The TM item 27 appears twice, but ea has a separate part number.
when I run the part, each number shows for its specific 60 or 100amp gen.
i have both in the shop, but...
If your lowest you could get is 33 volts, your regulator is shot. You will cook the batteries at that voltage.
i have a truck in the shop, right now that blew a battery...yes, it blew up. Was running at 33volts...blew the caps off when he started the truck...
So once you turned it up to meet the mark, what was its output ?
28.5 is max. Your gauge is possibly flaky, or your meter...cuz the metered output don't lie....regardless of what's on the gauge.
As far I as know, all the mil flashers are the same...I have about 5 differnt versions, all of which work in a HMMWV.
the issue with the flasher unit for the LED's is one that seems to only apply to non Groat and Trucklite.
cant remember which one though...personally for me, it's a waste of...
i too like it, it's probably the most practical configuration....except for the noise of the cargo cover, or if you don't use the cover, getting drenched when you stop at a red light from all the water in the bed.
Frankly, I don't bother, I just replace the generator, there are tons of 60amp gens out there due to all the m939 trucks being scrapped...I picked up a few for shop spares for 100.00 ea.
now and again I see NOS for 250.00
No...pump failure is quite common. I see it all the time. While over voltage is bad, you are overcharging your batteries.
thus, you are cooking them and they will fail, or better yet...explode....ask me how I know this...LOL
i have a customer truck in right now that blew the caps off the front...
There is a ground not only on the panal, but a ground that passes from the engine side to compartment side for instrument grounding...this must be clean.it can only be accessed by removing the inst cluster, it's behind the vent cables' upper right corner....I personally replace the ground stud...
What generator do you have?
60amp is adj, 200 amp is not...if a 60amp model, if it can't be adjusted to within specs, it needs a new regulator.
of a 200amp, just replace the voltage reg on top of the Gen.
