Been reading through all these posts...OP, you do know the fuel tank selector is on the left side of the truck on the floor at the bottom of the seat right? The tank selector on the dash ONLY tells you the amount of fuel in each tank...so selecting the dash switch does not change tanks....
first of all, that sizzling noise was becasue you did not disconnect your batteries before attempting to do electrical work...NEVER do any Work on this or Other Mil Vehicles with out disconnect the Ground at the Battery Box. No idea what Start system is in your truck...most likely have fried...
Oh, also check your vent tubing....unfortunately,the one that feeds your side of the truck in the drivers area is under the dash and runs from the pass side...
Like Dilvoy said....the power stud passes through the tub from the battery box to the other side to the pos stud to the starter, its possible it is now in contact with the body, remove all of it and replace/Inpect the stud and the plastic isolation pieces. These items need to be tight. Look at...
It will only happen when the Demil requirements are changed....DRMO has to abide by what the demil codes state...it's out of there hands. Demil requirements are set by DOD.
So, what do you know that maybe a few million other collectors, scrappers, DRMO workers, LE, surplus Buyers and a host of other agencies don't? I mean, you must have some reason to make this statement....
I have been in the military for 30yrs, owned more HMMWV's then I can count, including one that was an early early 85 first year production, and it had a cooler....I currently have 10 85-93's on the property and all have cooler....sorry, just never seen one with out one. I also have new cooler...
I have had this issue on several trucks as well. All,were brand new refurbs with everything replaced in the air system.
the drier is not perfect by any means....I get minor condensation from my air tanks upon draining on even warm days, the PPV is not after the drier from what I see...I have...
