They are worth about 250-300 or so....I have a few I my shop, they replaced the early stamped sheet metal version, these are heavier duty to withstand the beating from the M2 and mk19.
i have one on my Slantback. Post it for sale here or on the G503 HMMWV section. You could get more...ask 400...
Check your guide pins, remove them and lube them, also check the pads and make sure the channel and the brake adapters are lubed too....I have heard that those calipers are prone to sticking. See if you can isolate if its one or two of them. Also possible warped rotor.
AM Gen I am told now will hold no real inventory, they will of they get a contract source out the parts needed for a contract but only once it is financed by the govt or agency placing the order. I just bought a qty of complete beds, and left and right bed panals from AM gen....they are cheap...
let me add also, all the HMMWV Tires coming out of DRMO are due to HMMWV's entering into the Reset Program...All Trucks regardless get new Rim and Tire Package.
I have bought many with Brand new Rims,Tires,RF's and already Balanced from DRMO and just throw them on.
All HMMWV's Come with Run Flats...THey act as Bead Locks as well as RF's.
THe Magnesium RF was ONLY used on the Early Bias Ply tire...Junk, and could actually catch fire if used for its intended purpose...Imagine Magnesium
catching fire...good luck putting that fire out. Then there was the...
I do see you guys are a museum , that in fact can get trucks this way I do beleive...but be careful, it's my understanding that anything going to a museum can in fact still belong to Uncle Sam....
You will need an SF97 to get title....plus I don't ever remember DRMO selling complete trucks....ever.Only the private auctions in 99 in riverside,Atlanta and I think Texas.
You say it was previously street legal? Not sure what you mean....
You have stated the engine was NOS, but what does that mean? DRMO motor? I assume so....but those DRMO motors are removed for many reason...depot reset programs, blown motors etc...it's possible this motor was bad from the get go.
I don't know the history....have you asked your seller?
take it...
The glow plug is in the pre-chamber, if it breaks of its still in the the prechamber, remove the glow plug and stuff cotton in the injector hole, push the broken piece in and use a magnettic pickup probe or one of those flexible claw pick up things....not sure what they are called, I use it all...
First of all....that's not alot of smoke, I also dont here the stutter, but its hard to tell from the video, but now that your Injectors are done and we know that's not it....it's the pump or heads. The engine in my M1045 build upon firing it up smoked and stuttered....put new heads on and it...
Yep....that's been a topic already on the G503 site....HMMWV's are not some golden egg...they can be had for cheap...or at least what I think is cheap...15k on up...I've bought them, they need hella work though.
look at m151's, they are now 12-17k, some times more for mint ones. Look at MB's and...
I had a HMMWV body and frame for sale for under 10k, didn't get any bites....usual tire kickers.
if you want to build a truck up, find a body...figure 5-12k, then get a frame...I find them all the the time, heck, you can build your own, 2 frame rails, 4 cross members and mounts, upper and lower...
If it were me, I would do an injector pump....but as stated, could be bad valve guides seals, but that usually goes away once warm. Has it always done this since you brought it home? Or did it start doing it after you did something like changing a fuel filter? What model pump do you have? Read...
Does not make a diff on the older 2 piece rubber or newer 1 piece rubber....you can mix and match.
the tire be it an MTR, BF Goodrich, Goodyear MT etc makes no diff, nor does the number of bolts on the rim....12 bolt, 24bolt.....
