I have seen no one or heard of anyone who has bought a cut in half hmmwv....and not sure you would want one. That aluminum is aircraft grade, it don't play nice at all when trying to weld. Beleive me, I work on hmmwv's 7 days a week' if I thought I could weld holes in panels and the such, I...
I have a very good friend who owns a scrapping business, he looked into that DRMO event and was going to bid.....that was till he read the Demil requirements, he stated that anyone would be out of there mind to bid on it and win and have to abide by the rules laid out. He has been doing...
Do you have any more pics on where you cut the bed and more importantly the drop sides?
i see its gone from 5 ribs to 4, I see from one of your pics you cut from the ass end....
If you can secure the rear of the truck via cable, chain, come along to a tree, you won't require chaukling the wheels, but each recovery and environment will dictate what is feasible. MM winches are good....there is always trade offs.
ifmyour happy with it...,that's all that matters. Approach...
I disagree on the winch....there is a reason the goverment dumped all the MM winches folks.
One complaint I hear both in the military and on the trails is if your motor ain't running....you got no winch, in the military this can happen with fording gone wrong. Another is that the RPM's have to...
One of the reasons AM General stopped the H1 Line was having to get the truck compliant with Federal Crash standards, that would have required that they crash
test several $150,000 Durmax equipped trucks....remember, the H1 has a Ford Escort Sterring column. So alot of the parts used to make it...
Yep...that would do it. The fronts are longer then the rears...by about 1in. I know this as I just went through this on my truck. Curiosity killed the cat, so I measured them.
Couldnt agree more.....I was with a maint unit for 5yrs, towed many many trucks with the wrecker, it takes EXPERIENCE to do this folks...it's one thing for a military unit to do it, as they are left alone by L.E. and state troopers.
insurance isn't an issue either. We used to have a buffer...
I was watching the 931's in the auction set to end today at French Camp...went to look at 1pm and they were gone...I called site and they were told to cancel all bids...and Move the trucks to Fontana due to DRMO site moving next week to New Site in Tracy DLA site....cant beleive they did...
I had that issue with a 923, it was a PCB....I found one used for 50.00 and no more issues...make sure you get the right one...800 series look the same but won't work.
Valve is noisy regardless of what tank is selected....the lines pulsate...but so do my m931.... Just no noise...it's quite audible...if,not for that, the 8.3 just purrs.
Just got the new M932A2, I noticed where the tank selector valve assy is, it makes a rather loud ticking noise...when I grab the lines under the cab that is where it is coming from...my 931A2 does not....I noticed that the noise seems to come and go....more come then go.
anyone seen this on any...
The folks at French camp are great....never a problem, couldn't be more helpful...I only bid at French camp, if I can't go see it or drive it home....I don't want to bother...I used too bid elsewhere, but was always a problem of some sort.
Ahhhhh....yes, I am one of those lucky ones who got an m932A2 out of French camp....for cheaaaappp.
After 1pm or so I checked and noticed no one was bidding and site was slow....real slow. Looking at final bids on all the trucks I noticed that they didn't go over like 4100.00 I think...but that...
