Ya'll are glutin for punishment bringing this thread back to the top .
I guess Kenny is looking for a reason to fire the popcorn machine back up :-D.
The oil from the diff. shouldn't be in the bearings.
If you have gear oil on the bearings either the outer seal is shot or it's leaking from the keyway. If I had it down I'd replace the inner and outer seals as they don't cost that much and even though a seal looks good it can still be leaking.
24v is better in many ways IMO. Smaller wiring, less voltage loss over long wires, cranks faster, and seems to have more reserve capacity than two batteries in parallel.
I offen wonder why more vehicles in the civilain world haven't went to 24v. Mainly big trucks and diesel pickups. I guess...
I agree that it's buyer beware with GL and if you don't inspect before bidding it's a roll of the dice but that don't give them an excuse to tear them up for no reason.
What is the correct hourly wage point where you start carring? I don't think you can say " I'm only making min. wage so I...
All the sending unit does is complete the ground to the gauge. You either have a short in the wire going from the gauge to the sending unit or a bad sending unit.
Based on the pics from the other thread it has a dropside tailgate and there was what appeared to be some sort of data plate on the front of the bed. I'd like to know what that data plate said if that's what it was.
:ditto:
This is what I'd do.
When I heard about putting a deuce body on a civilain frame the first thing I thought of is the pic of the deuce on a GM running gear and can't get that image out of my head. Can't seem to find the pic but ya'll know the one .
I know several Head's from that area. Used to pull tractors with some of them. One of them has a first name of Dick. Well it's probably Richard but they do call him Dick. I'm not kidding. He's a good guy but I believe I'd go by my middle name if I was him .
One more thing, If you decide to remove the IP it's easiest to leave the shaft on the engine on ACs. Just line up the timming marks, take the mounting bolts off, and pull the IP off the shaft. As long as nobody turns the engine over while the the IP is off. To install all you have to do is line...
I know nothing about military gen sets but I do know about AC engines. This is a common problem with Roosa Master IPs. The rubber inside the pump comes apart and stops up the check valve. Remove the timming cover (rectangle plate on side of pump with two screws) and I will bet you there will be...
I had a guy tell me one time that deals in trucks something about an upcomming auction. He said he hoped the trucks went really cheap or really high. Said if they went cheap he would buy several and if they went high it just made the trucks he had for sale more valuable.
Ok, you made a liar out of me  ;-). I remember that now. Guess I was thinking about the adjusting nut.
The adjusting nut adjustment is what will cause bearing problems if not set right.
Hello neighbor :-D. If you need any info about deuces let me know. I don't know much about M37s though. You can come by and check mine out and I've even got one that needs a home right now .
The one that came in my truck isn't stolen. I bought it fair and square from GL. I could sell it on ebay if I wanted to. The ones on ebay may or may not be stolen but mine isn't.
I agree but I kind of get what BOT is talking about. If you're going to give it to second place, what will be the price? To make it fair you will have to void all the non-paying bidder's bids (even the ones where he wasn't the highest). You may have been in a bidding war with him from $150 up...
