What did everyone get from Redstone today?

Bottom line is it's a auction. Do I get mad sometimes, sure, but this kind of stuff has been going on as long as auctions have been around ( live and internet). It's just the nature of the beast. They (GL) aren't going to do anything that could lower prices and putting a max total bid would. I...

    Value of an M35A2

I've got a good runner in the classifieds right now for $2,500. I didn't give any where near $1,900 for it but by the time I got it hauled home, ready to go, and paid all the title fees and everything I'm not making much at $2,500.

What did everyone get from Redstone today?

Well, I do have room for another one beside the A3 if you want to bring it up :-D. I was watching that truck and thought it was one of the better deals down there.

    Winch hook capacity

I think you hit the nail on the head. The ratings for overhead lifting are alot lower than they are for winching. That would explain the low ratings.

Air ride suspension on a deuce

The easiest way to add a air ride is to find a cut-off from a wrecked truck and replace the axles with your deuce axles. Hendrickson does make a air ride that works similar to the deuce suspension. They are mostly found on dumptrucks but are somewhat complicated and pricey. I still think a air...

What did everyone get from Redstone today?

Alot of the trucks from Redstone were in below average condition. I still think most of the trucks were reasonable but there weren't any bargains IMO. I was wanting to pick up a couple of trucks but as rough as they were I kept my fingers off the keyboard.

    Value of an M35A2

For a bare M35A2 auction prices are averaging around $1,500+ for decent trucks. By the time you add buyers premium, sales tax, and sf97 you're looking at about $1,800+. Pirvate sale deuces are at $2,500-$3,500 depending on condition. You can add about $1,000 for a winch in either category. I'm...

Air ride suspension on a deuce

:ditto: Air ride is great for on road but it doesn't work good off road. I'd still like to see somebody do it though :-D. My experience is it will help the ride some but not as much as you think. We had a '83 Frieghtliner with Rayco spring suspension on it that was very rough ridding. We...

    New Style Swtich

You can't "flash" your lights with the push button switch. You have to push too many buttons to change functions.

    Winch hook capacity

Even if you are just using it to change direction there is still double the load on the snatch block hook. You have the load of the winch pulling one way and the load of the object on the other. It still doubles the weight on the hook.

    New Style Swtich

The new style has the same functions as the old 3-lever. One came in my deuce and I like it. It's the closest I'll ever come to "pimping" my deuce :-D.

    Winch hook capacity

Yea rizzo, you and I have talked about this before. The deuce snatch block is rated at 5 tons (10,000lbs) but if the shatch block is used at winch capacity it would have double that on it.

What do you do with an M332?

Haul ammo, of course.rofl If I could afford enough ammo to fill one up at todays prices I'd buy one.

Gimpy, If you get a chance while you're in Nashville stop by. I'll give you that winch tensioner you've been wanting.

Guys I really made a boo-boo -warning carnage!

Sounds like you may have broke something in the steering box if you got evrything back tight on the frontend.

Guys I really made a boo-boo -warning carnage!

I have found out (and it looks like you have too) that the stock tires do ok going in mud but have almost no side traction. Both my M35A2C and my M715 will slide sideways like crazy if you get on even a small side slope and it is the least bit wet. Sorry to hear about your truck .

    Breaking Tire Bead

I've delt with some very old tires and rusty wheels before. I've never seen one that wouldn't come free with soapy water and a duckbill hammer. You may give out before the tire does but if you beat on it long enough it'll come. The good thing about a duckbill ( or the pieces of angle mentioned...

    Manufacture Year Help

Check the frame number and post it. The data plates on some trucks don't match the frame number and it looks like yours has had the data plate "tampered" with. I would trust the data plate or what GL says the S/N is. When you get the frame number post it. Someone here will let you know the year.
