Just wanted some feedback on using a Chinese Knock-off starter on the NHC-250. The starter on my M936 wrecker is dead. I changed the solenoid and the motor is dead as well. I get 24 volts to the motor terminals (large ones) but no movement. My options are a used pull off or new Chinese...
I pulled the solenoid off the starter the other day. (More detail in my other thread on starter issues.) Starter shop tested it and found to be defective. (will not pull the plunger back at all). Ordered a new solenoid. Will hopefully arrive Thursday. Will troubleshoot the engine starting...
Took the solenoid to the starter shop to be tested. Yes it is shot. The coil does not retract the plunger. Ordered a new replacement for $76.02. Should arrive on Thursday.
I pulled the solenoid out this afternoon. The Alternator/Starter place in town closed at 3:00PM (banker's hours) Will try to see him tomorrow. My friend Billy came over later this evening and we tested the solenoid. We put 24 volts to the 2 small terminals to see if it would pull the...
Thanks for the info. I just did the same thing with my M820A2 a few months ago. I don't think I will have a problem finding out why the truck is hard to start. The main thing right now is getting the starter fixed or replace so I can actually crank her over.
On a side note. How about we call...
One on ebay is $100. Will check with local suppliers for better prices. Thank you so much for your help. I also downloaded the repair manual for the starter.
Saturday between raindrops I installed a Wilton 8" vise on my wrecker. I got a great deal on it on Ebay. I had to drill 2 new 1/2" holes in the steel plate on the bumper. The other 2 holes lined up with the new base.
I also received a replacement knob to repair the broken Spring Brake...
2 days after bringing the wrecker home I finally had time to move it to a spot I had cleared for it in my back yard. When I tried to start the truck the Battery Switch did not turn on the instruments as it should have. When I tried the start switch I got nothing. I tried over and over again...
I would not recommend 16.00-20 on the M936. The truck is heavy as it is and the engine has enough trouble moving it as it is. The larger tires will make it even more difficult to clime hills. Even the 14.00-20 tires on my truck make it harder to clime up the hills. timntrucks had some...
I have been having problems starting my wrecker. We managed to start it up at Jeff's place and get it home. When I tried to move it today it would not crank. I thought it was the battery switch because the gauges would not come on. I decided to try a different black box that I had as a...
May I add that you get much more air volume out of the glad hand. I used a larger female quick connect (1/2") so I could use the 1/2" hose to run my 1" air gun. I also made a adapter to go from 1/2" male to 1/4" female quick connect so I can use my regular hose for airing tires and small air...
I could really use one soon. I have a leaking inner seal. You may be able to fit one in a Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope. Less than $6 and $50 free insurance. You can ship up to 70 lbs in it.
Thank you for the reminder. Juan was helpful in pulling ail lights from donor trucks for me to replace the missing ones on my wrecker. That was on July 3rd in the afternoon after we got to see a live tank demonstration at Camp Shelby. Josh had the task of removing the main pin on the boom and...
She definitely has some surface rust to deal with but no cancer. We replaced the hard top with a really nice one. Yep I bet they came off a tan M931A2 or M923A2 since they had the CTIS modules still attached to them when he dropped them off yesterday. They will eventually be repainted flat...
