The advantage of the A3 rims is that they are already set up the the Deuce bolt pattern. Most of the other rims will need to be modified with center plates to fit the Deuce bolt pattern. (this is all assuming you are trying to get rims for super singles) otherwise just get regular Deuce rims...
Call me if you run into trouble. Been there done that. I did most of the important mods on mine and they are not complicated. I can help with locating certain parts cheap. You are more than capable of doing the DH mod. A chimp can do it. (At least you are skinny so reaching under the dash...
I had purchased a nice air ride seat on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. When I received it I noticed the base was not going to fit in the wrecker. It was a different design base that goes back as it rises. It takes too much room with that design. All the other air ride seats were straight up and...
After charging my batteries for an hour I tried to start up the truck. On the first crank the starter was spinning well and the engine started. But it cut off shortly after. On the 2nd try it started again and this time it continued to run! I let it run for a while and build up air.
I...
Make sure you do not eliminate the fusible links. Check the TM for wiring diagrams and make sure the fusible links are intact. Otherwise they can be replaced. Parts available on internet or NAPA.
Got a early delivery of brass fitting I ordered from AMAZON.com today. Decided to continue with fuel/water separator filter upgrade. Had to drill 2 new holes in the mounting plate and bolted the filter housing to the mounting plate. I tied in the copper line coming from the tank selector...
Did you do the DOGHEAD starter relay mod?

What about using the thimbles to mount the rims? We did that for the HEMTT rims on the front of M818 trucks. I know Jeff Davis has plenty of them from all the tires they removed when they were scrapping the trucks.
It might be the thickness of your rims that is the problem. I don't remember my M939 rims being that thick when we upgraded my M923 to 395-20s. FYI mine are the steel rims that come with the M939A1 and A2 trucks.
After further inspection of the back wall I think the easiest way to put a super single spare tire carrier on the M936A0 is to use a Super single spare mount from a M923 or M931 truck. I can mount one track on top of the back wall and the other can be supported by adding legs under the other...
On mine there is a mount there that looks like it would take a Jerry Can bracket on it. That can be mounted over the the new gussets (if I use square tubing instead of angles for the gussets) There is also a light pole and frame storage that will need to be moved. I will draw a sketch of what...
Pallet jack can do that. It is similar to the specialty cart made to remove dualies from commercial trucks. No lube required. (tires go between the 2 forks)
