No, not effectively. Sell it and buy the correct color cover. Brand new from GMA they are not that much $$$, although that is relative I guess. I bet the cover costs more than you paid for the trailer!
I should add that there is a tower on my parent's property that facilitates communications between first responders. My parent's were approached by the State of NY to rent an acre to them indefinitely to house a communications tower. As such, they have posted my parent's entire property since...
Put a sign on it that says "this property belongs to the XXX (govt entity). It is a federal /state offense, punishable by a fine of $X,XXX and/or 2 years in jail, to willfully damage this property." I know for a fact that such signs have worked on my parents property in upstate NY. Sure, it...
What makes you think it could have been a dealer? I'd be shocked if a dealer even picked up his own trucks and he sure as s*** is not going to tell the trucker to grab your ladder (unless, of course, by "dealer" you are referring to everyone and his brother who now buys several trucks to sell)...
Most vehicles these days are either green CARC or camo...and to a lesser extent 686A tan CARC. MERDC camo would really be the best correct color in my opinion. I am not really familiar with the USMC specific paint and the years it was applied to vehicles. I thought that ended in the late 60s...
M-series Rebuild in NC will make them, or so I am told, but the first one costs a bunch (in the range of $200 per plate...if I remember correctly). A group buy might be in order. Someone who needs one should contact them to see what it would cost for a few of them.
I would guess about $400. Those covers are rare...but hardly anyone wants them. So, on the one hand they should be worth a lot since they are difficult to find, but on the other they are **** near worthless because no one wants them. Keep the latter in mind when you are negotiating. Good luck.
I think a lot of these prices come about because guys don't know much about value. Many of the guys paying these crazy prices have not done their homework to know what the same trucks sell for on the retail market. They simply want a truck and gauge value by the fact that others are willing to...
Mike, I don't have any pics of the older dump gun trucks, but I had an M817 that came from Iraq that CARNAC told me had a SAW mount in the bed. It was some sort of mounting that was welded onto the cab protector. I also found some rounds in the cab.
Whatever you decide to do, DON'T tow them in tandem. The manual states that you should never tow them in tandem over 10 MPH and even then it is only permissible when driving cross country. These trailers are never to be towed in tandem on the highway. I learned this only after reading the...
I have no idea about this, but I'd be interested in seeing the end result as I have wanted to find a ring mount for an M939 series truck. I am not positive, but I have heard that the ring was the same, but the legs were different. Not sure if that is true or not as I have never seen one up close.
