Could be due to poor contacts in the S6 or S8 switch's. Poor contact in either of those can cause the Overload sensor to think there is an overload and cause an overload and the contactor to open.
With the set OFF I'd suggest exercising both switch's by moving them thru all their positions...

+24 volts takes a long path thru multiple wires to get to S1-5.
You ought to trace the power path from the battery's positive terminal thru all the points along it's path to S1-5.

It doesn't appear to be the case based on what wire connections I could spot in the pic.
I'm hoping the OP does the tests I suggested so we can get to the bottom of the LEDs not lighting when the button is pushed.

I think the problem is either no power to the monitor or it's shot. The OP indicated the Fault Reset button won't illuminate any of the LED's.
Looking at my schematic of the Fault Monitor if the Reset button won't illuminate all the LED's then there is a basic problem.

A pair of 12v motorcycle batteries work well. I have them in both of my 831's.

Very odd. I suspect it's a remote start connector judging by the way it's routed to the switch's on the control panel and the round hole on the left cabinet wall.
The firmware, as designed, does not automatically start the generator for the purpose of charging he generators batteries when they eventually start to drop in voltage.
The battery voltage can be monitored via WiFi when the generator is off to determine when the batteries might need topping...
