With the dash hinged up at the bottom, slide the ecu down into the dash hole until it bottoms. Then, there is a bracket attached to the bottom of the dash, that has holes for you to bolt the ecu against.
Too funny. Our '98's are suffering the exact same failures. My RH bag sprung a leak too. Changing it is 20 min. Finding one cheap, well that is another matter.
Oh and a little fyi, if you find a LH bag, you can disassemble it and put it in the RH housing.
Use a bottle jack to raise the left side of the intermediate axle and a second one to raise the left side of the rear axle. Put the truck in gear, if the wheels in the air spin, you have a bad locker or no locker. If the truck drives off the jacks, all is well.
I have lots of M172A1 rims and a few rim/tire assys here in Houston. Will be going to San Antonio in the near future. Wheel/tire assemblies come up for auction at Red River all the time. The outer special lug nut is not available, use a regular Budd nut. The inner thin lug nut can be made...
Unscrew the Cannon connector shell. Unbolt flasher. Reinstall flasher. Partially insert the Cannon connector, making sure to match the keyway in the connector. Tighten the shell.
This topic has not been covered here (yet). The brakes are sized for 5000 lb payload, so running empty should be no prob to haul down from an extra 15 mph.
I had high hopes of using my LMTV with scouting activities, as I got in the MV hobby to begin with as a scout, when my Scoutmaster brought a Dodge M37 to a campout. Well, our local council has safety policies out the wazoo and sure enough one of them is no scouts can ride in the beds of trucks.
Oh, you have what I think is a Solex carb. All you need it a piece of radiator hose to go from the air cleaner to the carb. That is until you want to go back with the factory YS carb. Then you will need the metal tube, the short connecting hose, and the longer flex hose.
No, not good shape. We say in Texas, "rode hard and put up wet". These GSA trucks were used by underfunded volunteer fire depts. as brush trucks. Unfortunately, the military has surplused 98% of CUCVs so as we say in Texas, "that's like closing the gate after the horse dun got out".
Welcome. I go through Tenaha all the time going up to Red River Depot. For CUCVs, look on GSAAuctions.gov, Craigslist, classifieds here. Minimum purchase price of trucks is $2,000 due to the axle value. Blazers can be had for much less. The Texas Forest Service in Lufkin sells about 10...
Yup, light truck tires do not age as well as the ancient non-directionals. I put the Wrangler Authority 31's from Wal Mart on my truck, they look sweet on an '09.
"Hello, Haldex Brake Products Corp, how may I direct your call?" "Oh, you have one of THOSE, we can't help you, there is a website "Steelsoldiers" with a bunch of crazy hobbyists that can though . . . ".
We have seen that the military has had a hard time fixing the brake systems on these...
Caution, I had to replace a door handle with a new one, and had a key made for that lock. That key does not work in the opposite door, nor did it work in your doors.
OK, since CARNAC's "all knowing" skillset seems to have a glitch, what type business can do this web sewing? Upholstery shop? I have long ago ordered the web material from McMaster Carr, just stuck on how to get it sewn up. Mine was cut up for unknown reasons.
