Looking for suggestions for a oil pressure sender (not a switch) for a MEP-831A.
1/8 NPT, reasonably priced, with either a nut/bolt terminal or spade connection.
Resistance of sender not critical.
The readings across CT3, K8-2 to K8-4 & R12 are all suspect. Those voltages are all above the 100% load level.
In the 120/240 single phase setting R13 is connected in parallel to R12 via S8.
Looks like possible a wiring issue to/from R13 and/or S8-14 & S8-13, bad contact closure between S8-13 &...
If the resistance of R10, R11, & R12 check out good then I'd recommend checking the AC voltage across each resistor when running the set under your load.
At 100% load the voltages across R10, R11 & R12 should be ~5.6 VAC.
At 133% load the voltages across R10, R11 & R12 should be ~7.5 VAC.
If...
Guy, I think you were looking at the HT switch and not the OP switch.
Here is what the TM has for OP switch connections.
143C to C
126A to NC
That's how my 802 is wired.
I suspect the set was giving them trouble and they chopped that section of wire harness out to make the set completely inoperable and not easily repaired. Probably then got a replacement genset.
I think you have a typo. Should be ...
Left side 112B, 112A on large terminal 159A on small screw
Right side 109J, 109K on large terminal 158A on small screw
The shunt is just a very low resistance high current resistor.
Current passes thru it when the battery is either charging or...
Will do.
Taking a break from work on it for Thanksgiving. House full of company for the holiday. Fixing issues uncovered during beta testing by some beta testers. Added a data logging feature to capture historical parameters, Min, Max Average of each as well as total generator run time...
That was my solution at home except I utilize a 5K UPS (pure sine) coupled with my 17.7 KW solar battery bank.
Picked up a couple of 5K UPS's for a song a few years back so the 2nd one is a backup. APC Matrix 5000's.
5K is more that adequate for running essentials during an outage for us.
It's...
It seems they aren't needed now.
According to profo in post #23 the 831 is J609B compliant and the Northern Tools 4.5K is a direct bolt up.
Thank you kindly for the offer though.
I'd be game but before we go down that road we need to verify that the engine is J609B compatible.
Need someone to verify the bolt circle diameter on the 831 as well as the output shaft dimensions.
Great info. I agree it's looking like a J609B bolt pattern.
Any chance you can measure the distance from the mounting surface on the engine to the beginning of the shaft taper and also from the mounting surface on the engine to the end of the shaft?
Also can you measure the bolt circle diameter...
