Thanks Westy. Looking at the mighty 6.5 TD in my new 2000 3500, the valve cover is embossed GM, which leads me to believe that all Chevy/GMC vehicles always had Moraine engines.
Did you or GM put that engine in your truck? The engine rebuilder article would lead you to believe that AM General was supplying the 6.5 to GM from 99 onwards.

Let me know how it goes with removing the pinion nut and flange. I pounded on that nut with a 1" impact for 5 minutes and it would not budge. On another diff, I got the nut off, but the flange would not pull off with my biggest puller even adding heat.
On mine, at the main panel, I connected phase A, B, and C together and tied to my 110 volt hot. I tied the 110 volt neutral to the panel neutral buss. All the lights and plugs function. With all the lights on, it's quite a load.
Unless it is your life's ambition to have a military museum, don't form a half azz museum just to get armor from Uncle. They are requiring accreditation, ADA access, regular hours, on and on.
If they have these concerns, the items are on loan from the Center of Military History, and can only be transferred to another accredited museum. Non-CMH items are bought and sold all day, for instance the Littlefield auction.
