The truck does not have a fail safe circuit that would kill the engine if the oil pressure fails. So whatever caused your engine to stall is not related to the oil pressure reporting systems. The red light came on as it should have when the engine oil pressure was zero. The flickering gauge is...
The B means she started life as a cargo truck with winch, and the 2 means she has the GM corporate (banjo) driveline. Vehiclesofvictory.com has a lot on info on these truck you may find useful. Looks like a typical minimal rust California truck, one that the rest of us wish we could find...
The cover will have a part number stenciled on it, that will help. The cover will have ropes sewn in on both ends. Also there will be 6 buckles for the tie up straps down each side. The dimension from the #1 buckle to the #6 buckle will be 14' approx.

Late shifts are probably part of what makes the valve body "racing/performance". I would have fixed the broke piston like rustystud said and gone on with life.
Guys got an issue with a buddy's 880. He decided to rebuild the front axle hubs using new bearings. Upon reassembly, the rotor wobbles back and forth about 1/4". Looks like the old bearings had been loose and spinning in the hub, and now the new bearings are loose too. Any simple fixes for...
The only thing Steyr on the FMTV is the cab, everything else except for some steering components is US. Your truck has an earlier version of the Steyr cab than was used on the FMTV. You will have to go to Europe to source parts for your truck.
Yes power is applied to the front axle in reverse. The engagement is a ratchet type mechanism that is reversed when you shift from forward to reverse. The only two speed transfers that were put into these trucks were the WWII GMC CCKW units that have ball bearings. The one you have in your...
