I think the steel wheel weighs around 100 lbs. I don't own an aluminum wheel yet, but I bet it is around 70 lbs. So a whopping 120 lbs weight savings on the truck, not counting the spare.
Both. The single stud you see in the picture is the bottom of the shock. It literally fell out. I don't understand what formed an air seal between the OD of the shock and the inner steel sleeve that the bag is cripmped to. I am going to reassemble it using JB Weld as a sealant at that...
Guys I think something has changed recently regarding AM General and BMY/Harsco trucks. Ever since I got DOT'd up to be legal in my 915, insurance agents call me all the time based on the public access info in the database. Yesterday an agent called me wanting my business. Usually I tell them...
Guys these combat rims are SO EASY. Just undo the nuts, and a few good whacks with the tire hammer in the bead, and up pops the ring. Now getting a rubber runflat out of the tire is another matter.
I know a lot of you may have experience with air bag helper springs on pickups, etc. Pictured is the air bag from the FMTV rear cab support system. Like everything else on my LMTV, it leaks. The -20 is no help in sourcing this as it is part of a larger assy that the p/n is FMTV specific. The...
Hainbd is right on. They come apart easy with a tire hammer. Drop them at my place, I will dismount them while you wait, if you leave the aluminum rims here!

You bring up an interesting point. I always try to use the OEM GM fasteners during reassembly. You seem to be advocating replacement with Grade 8. Is one better than the other? I know if you were restoring a 69 Z-28, people would kill you.
Almost certainly a true USMC script Willys. The Ford engine is not original. Engines were swapped without regard to manufacturer. That is a rare Jeep you have there. Should be an easy restore.
Guys, this is the factory original M35A1 and pre-stack M35A2 exhaust set up. The indentation on the pipe where it clears the handbrake shoes is factory.
