X2 on what Dan said.
They are built extremely well.
All the abuse they received in military life will take a toll.
Mine had several small holes in roof from whatever was stored up there.
Even after sealing everything up it's still drying out weeks later.
Wasn't dripping or moldy, just want...
Yea
All my CUCVs had that sticker on the speedometer plastic.
A lot of dust was there so they didn't stick much at all. Came off fine.
Luckly all the gibberish was written on windshields and came off without issue.
........but you could tell it was all originally done by Government...
Maybe for what you bought.
Last few items I've bought needed MEK to get the red paint off. White paint isn't as bad.
Even then it still had a color tint embedded in the sand CARC.
Foot tall and larger letters and numbers are just a bit excessive.
Ive noticed that the numbers/info being applied onto equipment has gone from a paint pen/sharpie to spray painting huge numbers and letters.

Already have my new peephole installed.
Finished a totally new rewiring job yesterday.
Its all sealed up and ready for new paint outside.
Door is last...
Yes
Some detailed pics of that door vent cover would be great.
Parts are almost impossible to find and I'm needing the pics to use for fixing/fabricating my door vent/escape panel.
Horizontal stabilizer
That location keeps it up and out of the way.
A lot of things get loaded in that. Vehicles included
The tail rotor is tilted a bit as it actually aids in lift.
Would guess close to 14-17 maintenance hours per flight hour in that beast.
Never flown one and have been inside only a few times.
Those are old airframes.
Totally depends on the airframe. (Type of helicopter). I haven't a clue about fixed wing.
The type and number/complexity of systems onboard affects the number also
Autopilot, radar, etc.
Some systems are a bear to troubleshoot/repair/adjust , which eats up time.
Age/Hours of the airframe...
