Did the gravel put enough pressure on the tailgate making it hard or impossible to unlatch it?
I plan on using the tailgate primarily and maybe the sides later.
Another option is to just go with AN fittings and stainless steel braided hose.
Aeroquip makes everything you would need. There are a lot of different angle fittings that will make it clean and easy install.
I plan on doing that when its time.
If it's hardly driven then it's even more important for the correct fluid.
Wrong fliud won't handle the moisture and prevent corrosion when sitting for weeks on end.
Plenty of threads on here about that and the 10w vs dex or whatever.
The Mobil oil I mentioned meets/exceeds all of Allison...
I'm just north of you and it's hot here also.
I Run this in mine.
Works like a dream.
They also make it in 30wt and 50wt.
I would not run dex fluid unless you need to rebuild trans soon.
Military uses 15w-40 because of logistics. Not the best for long life.
One benefit of having the dash off is access.
So.......
I installed a new 12v power plug on the passenger side lower dash for my wife.
You can see it in the earlier pics when I was wiring it up.
It's for her exclusive use only. Not mine.
She absolutely loves it!
Something so simple and...
Curious but it doesn't really matter.
Will call tomorrow
If the company sounds as good as the work they do (from the website pics), then my old one will ship
Thursday.
I did pull the rubber back on the passenger side.
It was definitely a clearence issue and the end result turned out so so.
Since it was my first dash replacement I know I could have done a better job at it.
I was tempted a few times to take the dash outside and shoot it, but clearer heads...
First pic that top left corner just doesn't sit right.
No amount of adjusting would make it better. Almost seems the dash panel width of the new dash is just not enough.
Second pic is a helicopter led map light
First pic panel looks loose but it's tight.
Any tighter and the panel would crack.
