ISSPRO is also direct fit and black bezel, like the VDO Light hooks up direct also There are several choices out there. VDO makes a great gauge. So does ISSPRO. Just relaying a great deal on a great gauge. I have a VDO tachometer ordered. Point is, you have great choices to get a working...

    M1009 starting problems

Just get a 24v voltmeter and plug it right in. Works like a charm and you don't have to mess with the original 12v ones that seem to act up and not work. ISSPRO is a good one and good deals are on eBay for military surplus ones. They are more suited for the cucv unlike the ones for the 5...

    Current price/availability for a crate 6.2?

Keep an eye out on Govliquation.com. They had a bunch listed recently. Most were 6.5 but several 6.2's also. Included storage container. Nothing new. Some rebuilds and most as-is takeouts. Don't remember prices. I personally would rebuild. That way you can build for the turbo and know...

Keep Military OEM or change scheme looking for advice.

Thank you for thinking about veterans. I personally see no issue whatsoever if you keep it as is or bring it back to original. Your not trying to pass as something your not. Your just driving a OLD former MV that you really like. They do get a lot of attention! If you get another salute...

So this tach reads the DS pulse signal directly? Nothing fancy to do? Just hook up and calibrate?

Just curious about the blue primer or....?

Well the hardest part of installing the second tank is already done. The fuel door! Search the old threads about a second tank install for the small parts required. If you even want one of course.

Just curious about the blue primer or....?

Sounds like your doors and bed have been swapped at some point in the trucks life. No big deal. Just sand and repaint. Do you have two fuel tanks?

    Broken starter bolt

It doesn't say I know but when I did a thread search, SS members mentioned that they come in a box of 5. Ordered 1, 1 box arrived with 5 bolts inside. Good to go!

    Supporting 14,000 curb weight?

Agree. Downhill and Gravity is unforgiving

    Supporting 14,000 curb weight?

Do whatever you want. But....... The insurance company, if anything happens, will walk away because the weight is far above vehicle design limits. The rest is downhill from there.
