    Rear hub oil leak

And the great part about using the cheap in-line fuel filter is that protects the line from critters that would build in the line - blocking off the vent... Smart money is to put it where you can see it during your visual pre-trip inspection. In a perfect world, all three axle vent tubes...

[SOLVED] 1997 M1088 pressure release valve at 30psi?

No. Mine sits at about 105/110. It might be worth verifying that your gauge is correct. MV instrumentation on the dash isn't terribly reliable. I did a quick check on eBay and searched "air compressor pressure gauge" and found several for about $8 delivered. For a few bucks you could plug...

[SOLVED] 1997 M1088 pressure release valve at 30psi?

Hi Chris, Not sure what "every now and then" amounts to, but my truck at idle with throw air out of the dryer every few minutes. I have never timed it, but it amounts a couple of times as I walk around the truck during a pre-trip check.

    New member from Oregon

MoonClipper, Welcome from North Carolina ! These green beasts are about as much fun as a body can have with their clothes on  . There are lots of people willing to give advise. Pictures are a real help for us to see what you are up to - or just to show off your new "toy" so don't be...

    Securing Cargo

Morning @Ajax MD, I am with you 100% - Tanker Hauling would be better than no job at all - but not by much! Reminds me of a CW McCall song that mentions a "suicide jockey"... The no baffles setup is so the inside of the trailer is very easy to clean. At least that is what the guys at the...

    Securing Cargo

Dang right! Have a friend of mine who drives a milk tanker. They have NO BAFFLES at all. Just a big thermos bottle on wheels... I remember years ago riding on the milk run one morning, had to make a quick stop and it felt like we got rear ended. The front and back of the inside of the...

Looking at a Deuce, Has Some Issues

Absolutely! My truck is living, breathing truth that these trucks sometimes escape with cool in service up-fits . I feel "special" sometimes because of it - and other times - not so much. One thing is for sure in my case: Free Spool winches are wonderful!

    Securing Cargo

Hi, I'm not a long haul guy or anything but I generally will secure a load, then drive a few thousand yards, pull over and check strap tension. It really sucks in a box truck, but things need to be tied to the E-Track so they don't come through the front of the truck bed or trailer "to get...

What data plates do you guys want??

Not yet. I stumbled across this thread looking for some for myself. It seemed that maybe there was a guy, then maybe there was another guy - then they seemed to fall off the planet. So, I thought I would mention it and see if there was any interest. I had considered printing vinyl and...

What data plates do you guys want??

Guys, among many other things that we do here in our print shop - we screen print. I have my own MV's out back and some of the data plates - the ones on my M936 in particular look pretty crummy. Sun faded and almost unreadable... We print on aluminum regularly here. Most but not all of the...

    Another brake issue

So, I don't have a Deuce. Gotta say that up front. HOWEVER, you did say you were bleeding the brakes. That leads me to an Air over Hydraulic system type of brakes. Might be a stupid question - but before you started bleeding - were the inside of the wheels (on the backing plate) wet at all...

    Another brake issue

I would think that if the peddle feels "solid" at two inches from the floor - adjusting the brakes - shoes to drum is what needs to happen to move the peddle up. There are two adjustments on those shoes. One at the top and a cam at the bottom. Your goal is even shoe contact to as much of the...

How do "lift" your 1200 lbs MEP803 without a forklift??

Another thing that works really well is 6 inch PVC pipe. Comes generally in 8 or 10 ft sections. 4 pieces a little wider than your machine will roll them fairly well across the ground by hand. Might not need but one piece and a skill saw to cut them into manageable lengths. I have used...

Electrical Connectors for Tail, Marker and Lollipop lights?

I found them in 10-packs at a couple of the often recommended suppliers... Guess I was hoping for some sort of a bulk purchase price rather than a buck thirty-five each + shipping. Silly old me...

Electrical Connectors for Tail, Marker and Lollipop lights?

Wes, I noticed - with a second look - that it looks a little rusty inside too? This truck came from the "land of salt and slag" and it appears that may be a problem.

Looking at a Deuce, Has Some Issues

Well, I do have to say that every single project I start with my M936 seems to lead to another project... Going to fix a simple amber marker light. Because I could, I disconnected it from the electrical connection. I think that may be called a packard connector. Anyhow, I unscrewed the...

Electrical Connectors for Tail, Marker and Lollipop lights?

I don't really know what they are called. I thought maybe they were Packard Connectors (the male end) but what I have here in a bag "ain't it". What I am doing is adding a second light on the back of my truck - both sides. Hoping to make up a "Y" off the factory harness, add a few inches of...
