Where is the "none of the above" option? Call me a party pooper but I just can't get excited about either of these trailers. Difficult to hitch up (early 105's), a pain to back up, can't get turned around on a trail, etc . . .
Gotta love the blackout drive lamp perched up there like a bird . . . That truck already has the bed baptised, we won't even notice that dent after DRMO and GL get a hold of it . . .

Those are very hard to make look good. The various panels are available from MD Juan dealers. You can replace the front and rear panel easier than beating it straight, heating and shrinking out the dents, and bondoing your existing ones.
Jeff, do you know who the displays belong to then? I wonder if they could be adopted by a military musuem somewhere that is on good terms with the CMH (Center for Military History).
Thanks for posting! Sorry, but that has to be the worst maintained display I have ever seen. I know the Army has other priorities, but the displays at other bases are night and day from that.
You will need to find a Cat D7 of the appropriate Viet Nam era, and go from there. Military tractors are out there, but are not always easy to find. I would recommend a D7E 48A or 47A series. They were hauled on M172 trailers by M123 ten tons. To up-armor, 1/4 plate could be welded to the...
