I have searched and cannot find an answer. My 86 M1009 has a bad ignition. When I turn the vehicle to off sometimes it keeps running. Until I can get this fixed how can I shut down my vehicle in the event it won't shut off by normal means, ie, the ignition
When I am driving my 1986 M1009 it has recently started smoking. I only see it at nighttime in the headlights of other cars so I can't see the color If I dump the throttle and then slowly start pushing the accelerator it stops. Too much air fuel mixture? Power seems normal too.

Batteries fully charged, when key is in the on position all internal lights go on like normal. When going to start the dog head relay does not ckick, we replaced it and nothing. Starter rebuilt and installed, still nothing. Any thoughts? No turn over. Was running great last time it started.
Have this unbloted and all wires removed. Now it is so tight under there we can't pull it out. How is it done? Also I have a spare starter for my 1009 we were going to put in the 1028 but it looks smaller. Is there a diffrence? Thanks for your help.
