    M1009 Racks

Here is my thread about racks. Lots of pics at the end. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?82322-Finally-got-the-Roof-Rack-M1009 I wanted the rack mostly for the spare and a couple of jerry cans. It is just on the shell, so the whole thing can come off if i want to go topless.

Newby considering M1009 for hunting truck....need info

I also purchased my m1009 as a hunting vehicle. I guess one question would be, what kind of hunting did you intend? I chose the 09 because I wanted to secure my dogs in the vehicle without a dog box, and have the ability to sleep in the blazer on an overnight trip. One mod that I was...

Just got my M1009, what a beast! Lots to learn!!

I went with Limo dark in the back and medium on the driver and pax doors. I haven't had any problem with viz even at night. Nice and dark on the outside but the windows are big enough to offer a fishbowl view from the inside. I wanted to go as dark as possible to keep the heat down. I usually...

Just got my M1009, what a beast! Lots to learn!!

Congrats on a great truck. I have been running mine without an a/c, and know that we are hotter here in the IE than your are in SD. Try driving without it for the next year. I bet you won't even miss it. It's supposed to be 107F here tomorrow, but the wing windows and floor vents work great...

    Al's liner came out good...

I also did the AL's liner about a year and a half ago. I love it. Cleans out with a hose and has really held up to punishment well. Here is my write up. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?71980-Al-s-Liner-M1009-interior

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Replaced speedo cable with a new one from Napa auto parts. PN 615-1615. Also replaced the spedo head with a used one from another member. Its clocking about 5mph faster than the GPS now, but way better than the ping pong match that i was watching before. It actually bounced so much that it...

    Replacement Speedometer

I ended up finding the 100 inch long cable at the local Napa auto parts. PN 615-1615. Fits great and only cost $30. Speedo is now working.

How to know if my 6.2l is running as it should

HI stationjj I just got the other part number (88959480) that you recommend in this thread... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?99005-Replacement-Speedometer That cable is too short. So have you found that GM part #25932661 fits correctly? I will plan to exchange my part, but...

    m1009 from hundred dollar man

I got my 1009 from Mark, and looked at a few that he was offering. I passed on the first couple and waited almost 9 months for one to come in that I really liked. He only got the 1009s periodically (as Barstow let them go). Mine was almost rust free and he had a really nice one next to mine...

    My M101A3...new to MV

Having an excuse to learn how to weld and paint and all the other crap that comes along with old surplus is most of the fun. My m1009 is really just an excuse to buy all the tools (toys) that i need to keep it running. "That spare tire really needs to be on the top, oh well guess i need a...
