    My new M931A2

Great looking truck! Another score from Jeff City. Glad I could help out another enthusiast. Let me know if you need any help with it in the future! Jeff

    ATF red dye?

Yes. The government just doesn't want you using offroad diesel because it's taxed less. I would be hesitant to use anything that makes your filters look red. If ATF does that, don't use it. I don't see why it's a huge debate. Just use road diesel and make your truck happy.

Tactical Doc's M923 fuel preservative choice

"If it's good enough for the military, it's good enough for me." I pretty much live by this. I put diesel in it, flip some switches, and she starts. Sometimes I will add some of the Diesel Kleen stuff if I feel like it. I have found my urine to work even better in a pinch though... But...

    Real Costs of Buying/Issues

I wouldn't be worried about the EUC thing. If you find a nice truck for the right price, I'd go for it even with the EUC. I gambled on my truck and I didn't know anything about GL or what I was getting myself into. I didn't preview the truck, have someone look at it, or anything of that nature...

    Used Motor Oil as fuel?

How much oil do you have? Would your cost saving running any of the oil really save you that much money in diesel? Seems like a risk I would not be willing to take unless I really had to.

Driving 5-ton with parking brake on...

It's all about repetition. I run through a short check list in my head of things to check right as I am about to move the truck. Also I have found that using the parking brake in my daily driver on a regular basis has taught me to do the same in the 5 ton. You will develop a muscle memory pretty...

    EUC Question

Good point Warthog. Thanks for the info. That pretty much confirmed my thoughts. Excellent.

    EUC Question

So about a year ago I bought an m923a1 from GL with an EUC. Everything cleared just fine and I have enjoyed the truck. My question is this... How would I go about selling it if I ever wanted to? GL no longer requires an EUC to buy these trucks anymore. So when selling mine would I still have to...

    Trucks out of Indianapolis......

Thanks for the info Ferro. I will have to look at the tag closer. I can't remember if it was a rebuild tag or not. The trucks I have seen from RRAD have black engines. Who knows... Sorry for the thread jack . I guess my point didn't really prove much anyway haha.

    Trucks out of Indianapolis......

Looks tan... I don't think it's the same CARC color as the desert tan trucks. It's a gloss type finish as well. You be the judge haha.

    Trucks out of Indianapolis......

Right, that was 2010. I found the tag when I had the truck in front of me after picking it up. But my point was that I couldn't see that with the GL pics, nor did they have a great description on GL about if it was rebuilt or not. I have noticed that most of the listings today are slightly more...

    Trucks out of Indianapolis......

I bought my 923A1 out of Jeff City MO and it didn't say anything about being rebuilt on the GL page. I figured it was though because the engine was tan instead of the original black. When I got the truck I was pleased to see 2010 rebuild tags all over it. Mine had 22,000 miles on it with only 46...

Need some quick answers on a 923a

I said that because the auction was very easy to find. Saw that his location was near the Jeff City base. Searched on GL and bingo, first truck. Not that hard to find. Just giving the OP a hard time 8-). If I was in the market, I'd have given him some competition.

Need some quick answers on a 923a

It's just the control box. Easy fix. About 100 bucks for one. Look around and you can find them cheaper. Nice looking truck by the way ;-)

    Must be electrical gremlin night

If you can smack the box enough to get the top to fly off, then you are in business. Some boxes are shaped differently. But mine has a top and a bottom piece of metal. The top flew off from smacking on it while trying to crank the truck. So then all you have to do is tap (key word is tap) the...

Sounds like the control box to me. Smack it with a hammer.

    5ton sf-97 question

Why would you not need a title? You need a title to get the truck registered. Be very careful about buying a truck without a title. I would honestly tell the seller to get the facts straightened out. It's not your problem. There are a lot of these trucks around and this isn't the only chance you...
