Hey guys, are there any requirements beyond a driver's license (Class-C) to legally drive an FMTV? I've got the itch but I don't want to scratch a deep hole!
I added power-steering to the Deuce a while back and the last time I drove it there were no issues. However, the other day, the steering wheel would only turn to the left and then to the right only enough to straighten the wheels. In essence, no right turns Clyde! I was pulling hard to turn...
Does anybody know when the older style gauges (all four small gauges along the bottom) were phased out with the newer style gauge cluster (three on the bottom one in between Tach & Speedo)?
I've searched for a few minutes and couldn't find any information about this. I'm trying to use an IBIS Tek tow bar on my deuce. IIRC someone mentioned shaving a medium foot and opening up the 3/4" pin-hole on the end of the tow bar. Any other suggestions?
I was approached by a production company asking if I would consider renting them my M109a3 for a very popular television show. What would y'all suggest is "the going rate"?
I've had them mounted and they simply won't hold air. I've taken the truck to another tire shop as the original diesel repair shop had serious issues but the tires still leak! I have replaced the O-rings and had them Teflon all the fittings. Any ideas???
I recently added an air-operated power steering kit and my buzzer kept going off as I was negotiating some mild off-road driving and braking. Any idea how to remedy this issue? Is it simply "turning up the air" or more involved like plumbing in additional air tanks? Thanks in advance.
I bought a set of brake lines from BigMike on Ebay recently and my truck is being worked on as I type... My mechanic just called and said I need a 6th brake line?!!? Anybody know what it's all about? Thank you in advance.
Does anyone know how to eliminate/reduce the cracking on an A3 steering wheel? I'm adding this to my M109 along with the power steering kit. Thanks in advance.
Having had a terrible experience with MilitaryOffroadTires.net I was hesitant to venture down the small business aspect of buying 395/85r20 tires.
I found "CSM Army Tires" located in Alabama on Monday and despite having slightly higher priced tires they were freighted to McDonough, GA today...
Has anybody done business with this company... Successfully? this is not an advertisement. Instead, I'm trying to get an idea if I'm wasting my time trying to buy tires from this company. If this violates "the rules" please delete. Thanks in advance.
I came across some Grote LED side marker clearance lights and wired them up off of my rear signal connectors via a "Y" splitter, three lights per side. One of the side markers didn't work (driver's side) so I found a Grote incandescent side marker and wired it in place of the LED. I figured it...
Forgive me for not being able to post page 23 of the Deuce's lube order that displays the grease-fittings for the "Clutch Throw Out Shaft"... With that said, this past weekend I was pumping some grease into this fitting and a steel-in-color ring began to emerge from the clutch linkage side and...
I'm looking to get seven A3 "Super Single" tires (14.50 r20) to put on my M109a3 that currently has the standard tires on it now. Do these just bolt right up or is a hub flip required/mandatory for the rear axle?
Will this tire fit on the rear of the Deuce? I'm concerned about the space between the axles. I can't find the distance between the axles anywhere. My Google-Fu is weak today.
As I sit here pondering how to mod' the Deuce, I notice that nobody has a super-single mounted as a spare tire anywhere. This got me to thinkin'. Does anyone know of a company that makes a "swingout/gate" style of tire mount beefy enough to support the weight of a 14.50 R20 tire? My initial...
I saw this on someone's truck and can't recall who for the life of me. I appreciate all your help thus far and for all the help you'll provide in the future. My question is, which wire should I install this switch on? I'm worse than Forrest Gump when trying to figure out electrical issues. I...
I bought this Deuce (M109a3) and the speedometer adaptor that goes into the transmission was in the glove box! I reinstalled it and now the odometer is rolling backwards and there is no speed registering on the gauge. I'm not really sure how I screwed that up considering the adaptor goes...
My google-fu must be really crappy today. I'm looking for the gauge of wire used for the most common items: signal flashers, headlights, brake lights, etc... I recall seeing a reply to this a few days ago but I can't seem to find it for the life of me. Thank you in advance.
