No new units as of right now, list is still last posted, waiting on intel. from CO. on departure time and reconned route the will ensure minimal enemy contract.
I know you already know...BUT...Just a friendly reminder... It will be IMPOSSIBLE and possibly even dangerous to move a convoy of nearly 20 MVs thru that distance without police escort blocking intersections/stop lights/signs etc.

And that is WHY you are the IFS.
My call to the Gwinnett County LEO was non productive. They had an officer I remember that got into a severe accident while doing these types of traffic controls - so they no longer authorize then outside of funerals - and that is a whole nother group that does them.

SUGGESTIONS ?

My recommendation is that the movement be made on an individual basis. Just post a final time/assembly area at the event and let everyone E&E to that location. Same with the return trip.
That will take all responsibility/liability off the "organizer" and place it on the individual.

SUGGESTIONS ?
Why not pick a separate assembly point near the fairgrounds? Meter out a few MVs at a time to assemble in a grocery parking lot, etc. and then all travel together the short distance to the fairgrounds.

Andy was put in charge of any operations for the run to help support the BS/CS function.

I want to be perfectly clear in writing - This is separate from my cookout and needs to be handled in a professional manner - it represents us all.
There is absolutely no reason to ride bumper to bumper in convoy up there - splitting them up and giving the civies room to run without putting anyone in harms way - we do not need ANY accidents from this.

Andy - we need some input of the plans as we now know where we stand without LEO support and how many truck count and passengers will be involved.

I am only holding the cookout - but if this is not handled correctly I will jerk the cord on it.
Safety Safety Safety is the word for that day.
Time to start narrowing things down on that side and if its not coming together we need to pass on it would be my suggestion.

I want in no way any negative input from this to influence the cookout. Cookout intent is and was only one thing - comradre and start the MV season.

Operation BS update

OK the Scout Show update we’ve all been waiting for. I am attaching a map. The volunteer that is heading this up is doing this event for the first time and has been a bit overwhelmed. He is very excited about us being there and has a request that we come in from our staging area just inside Gate 3 of Gwinnett County Fair Grounds just after 9:30 AM to be part of opening ceremony before the event gates open. If everyone could be to that point by 9:15 we won’t have t worry about stragglers. The people who will be there are volunteers and overnight campers. After we parade in there will be flag raising. Coming in that morning there will not be allot of foot traffic. We drive straight in make 2 lefts and back in to grass area in a row along fence. The spaces he has allotted us are G-1 to G-8 he believes the spaces are either 20’ to 25’ across This is next to the main gate and EVERYONE coming into the event will see all of our trucks lined up. At 1PM when we fire up and roll out in the convoy it will be very east to rope off a safe area for the trucks to leave. We take a right turn off the grass and leave out of the same gate we entered Gate #3.

Thanks Andy, for the map and info. The Gate 3 entrance is located at 33°55'5.91"N 83°59'11.02"W. It looks like the area marked out for the parking display is about 450 feet long by about 50' deep.

Now I gotta get my truck washed and prep'ed so she's "parade ready.":jumpin:

I have some questions.
1) how many vehicles total?

2) How many vehicles will be leaving from Zouts Saturday morning, and how many will just drive straight to the fairgrounds?

3) Given the fact that all vehicles will be heading to Zouts after the event, do we have a feel for the number of vehicles we can let leave at one time, and the number of minutes between the vehicles leaving?

Sorry, my convoy planning gene kicked in............
