Check the avatar, it was a KW PLS or XM1074 prototype before it had been converted. It originally had super singles all around with split rims. We went with a more aggressive tread for winter weather. When we did the converstion, Aluminum was cheaper than steel bud rims by about $20.00 per rim...
I see that David was the only one in this post to mention POR-15. Used it along with the "Marine Clean", "Metal ReadY", POR, Primer, and POR paint itself. Expensive, but worked real well, actually prefered it after talking to our Welder. Only thing with it's sensitve to UV light and breaks down...
Lost ours due to Calcium Chloride from the Anti Ice...tried a Mack tank no go...try www.clarktruck.com they were great and fast, don't remember what we paid
Now that the snow is out of here, I'm attaching photos of a plow we bought here in the middle of last season. This is a "Housatonic Welding Co." plow sold thru SA McLean up in Limerick, ME. I gotta tell you it was a nice blade. It would replace or I mean mount up to a Fisher headset or even a...
You are on to something....ever consider the same concept for make-up kits. With some marketing, could be the best Christmas gift yet. Imagine giving this to Mother in Laws?
32+ hours plowing with an old Mack with a Quad Box and air assist steering gives about the same excitement. Dress for it...Sweat pants, sneakers or whatever. Don't forget, PLENTY OF WATER!, coffee is fine, but, push the water, you'll feel better. Good luck
Has anyone had issues with the new low sulfur diesel and water condensation issues in their tanks? No problems yet with the MV's we have, but, we've replaced a couple of fuel tanks on some trucks along with installing a poly lined tank on a Backhoe

Camp Lejeune? I can remember getting pulled over with our MP Company (2nd FSSG)CUCV's and older M151's by the Roadmaster for not having up the "Troop Strap" Anyone know if the MP's still ask for the trip tickets for G.O.V's going off base?

Don't know about plowing with one myself, but, we use a M49 with two 24v pumps to spray Anti-Icing on the roadways. The Calcium is "Kicking the Snotties" out the the iron, but the system works...ever see the sun come out and mely snow at 3 a.m.?
Oh Yea...ran into that with our M923. Cummins Northeast, here in Massachusetts installed what is called a "High Idle Governor". We were experiencing no problem at idle when we installed a crane on the truck. However, when the "load" was placed on the Hydraulic system, the RPM would increase...
Merlin,
This is why the site is so useful....Thanks. When we got the truck from the Army Soldiers System Command in Natick Mass they mentioned it was tested at Natick for simulated air drops from a testing crane they had there. Everything mentioned on this thread ringss true for the units...
