Yeah, the air wipers are a PITA that's a deuce fact. How far open can lift the windshield with those electric wipers.
The motors are actually quiet simple to take apart and clean.
Kind of neat I think, I have not see a deuce shop truck. At 18,300 she's got 4,000 more pounds of steel than a M35A2 W/W.
I want a M925 so bad and all the 900 series chatter is not helping.
That would be an easy how to video to make "how to check the axle oil" or I could combo "how to check the axle, transfer case, and transmission oil".
Here is a video showing how to check the brake fluid.
That's one heck of a mess. Based on the fact you said it was gear oil you have an axle leak. Need to replace the seals, inspect/pack the bearings, clean your spring vent, and refill with gear oil.
I say check the brake fuild to confirm, then clean the spring vent and get it to your shop.
Man...
Sounds fine to me....if your still worried replace the belt, clean the inlet filter, and replace the air governor. Go around to the fittings and use some pipe dope to seal things up.
I had a similiar concern but after running the piss out of the truck yesterday my air compressor sounds great.
I see guys with regular plates all the time. However, I have a weighted plated of 26,000. Cobb County DMV would not let me have anything else. They said it was a cargo truck. Plate was cheap though $40. Oh and they has a officer come out to verify my vin.
Looks good to me. Make sure you clean the axle vent or that gear between the seal and hub will blow past the seal or out the axle flange. Oh and adjust the brakes while you have the wheels off.
Three color camo CARC for two reasons.
1. Looks good
2. Helps camouflage the truck from the neighbors and code enforcement from space (I am not joking they claimed they had images).
