That's one heck of a mess. Based on the fact you said it was gear oil you have an axle leak. Need to replace the seals, inspect/pack the bearings, clean your spring vent, and refill with gear oil. I say check the brake fuild to confirm, then clean the spring vent and get it to your shop. Man...

Sounds fine to me....if your still worried replace the belt, clean the inlet filter, and replace the air governor. Go around to the fittings and use some pipe dope to seal things up. I had a similiar concern but after running the piss out of the truck yesterday my air compressor sounds great.

I agree, this is very sound advice. You would be wise to follow it. Deuce axle boots = PITA.

I say overkill fix it. Pull the radiator, replace all the hoses, all the belts, and the thermostat. That's what I did on my truck.

Looks good to me. Make sure you clean the axle vent or that gear between the seal and hub will blow past the seal or out the axle flange. Oh and adjust the brakes while you have the wheels off.

Yes, you should be concerned if it's brake fluid you could kill yourself and that would suck. So is it brake fluid or gear oil?
