Alright sounds great. I have spotted a few 1000 and 2000 series for decent prices. I'll try to take measurements some how to see if the 3060 will fit.
Also i just got done reading a thread on 4btswaps and apparently you can bolt a 5 or 6 Allison, that once was mated to a dmax or 8.1 gas, up to...
I did research on that as well lol. I know it's a huge transmission. Would it not be able to fit at all? Even with the lift?
I can always buy a Cummins seperate, and then maybe buy an Allison transmission that was out of 3500?
I know the NV4500 has been done already, but I wanted to try the...
I'm selling my sport bike and would like to play around with different ideas that I can go through with on the M1008. The idea I like the most would be to swap the 6.2 and the th400 for a 5.9 Cummins and Allison 3060 (5 speed overdrive) transmission.
Now I've been doing a lot of research, but...
-12 V conversion
-Transmission cooler
-Water Temp, Transmission Temp, Oil Pressure, Voltmeter gauges
-Changed all the fluids
-2" Steel Spacers
-37" HMMWV Runflats
Now I'm trying to fix the death wobble :soapbox:
Hopefully if that gets fixed I can move onto the 4" lift, and then eventually 5.9...
Good deal! Also I have another question that has been brewing in my mind. I have read every thread about swapping a 5.9 Cummins into the M1008. Especially Kroatan Kid's build on his other site. So here is my first question.
If I bought a Cummins with a transmission already connected, do I need...
Ok, so I found out that my psi is way off right now, and it most definitely contributed to my death wobble. I'm a little embarrassed to say how off . However, I will deflate a little and try her out again tomorrow. Hopefully this had a lot to do with the wobble, but I will still rebuild...
Granted that most of the truck will be used for the highway, anywhere between Georgia and Oklahoma lol. Off roading is just for fun, or in the case of an emergency, but I don't want to be scrubbing in any situation. I wish i had more money, but don't we all. The flip side of the coin is I have a...
These are the only pics that I could get today. Tomorrow I'll take a picture of the transmission cooler, and the T-fitting that holds the transmission temperature gauge sender. Those are 37" run flats with no lift.. for now!
Haha I will get some pictures up a little later today once I get home. By the way I fixed the turn stop thanks to the advice of AJMBLAZER. I bought a longer grade 8 bolt and now I have about 5/8" to 3/4" clearance between the drag link and the inner part of the tire. I also ordered the MOOG...
Thanks ranchhopper! I should be getting the bushing and spring kit in tomorrow from ORD. I'm going to do all my front end a suspension upgrades before i go get the alignment and the tires balanced. That way I don't run the risk of screwing everything up again.
The truck is a really good truck...
Yeah I got a good month or so ahead of me lol. I was thinking about doing a 4" lift, but it just depends on my funds. I would rather do the rear shackle flip instead of the blocks, and probably cross over steering, and things just keep going up with the 4" lift lol. But we will see. Plus I'm the...
Alright so I just installing 37" run flats on 2" steel spacers. I had a long day Saturday fighting with them. I trimmed the fenders and bent in the wheel well back just enough so the tires don't scrub when fully turned (I have a permanent solution coming soon). However, the inner part of the...
Do you have to run spacers when putting the HMMVW wheels on? I've read some where you don't necessarily have to as long as you trim enough so that it doesn't rub. Is that correct?
Also if you do put spacers on, is it only in the front, or on all four wheels?
Thanks!
I know this is an old thread, but I was also thinking about installing zero rate blocks. This may be a question that has already been answered, but I couldn't find it. Are the M1008 leaf springs 2.5" wide or 3" wide. I appreciate it!
Dang. See this is why I ask you guys though. Good straight answers! Gear vendors sound good, but pricey. 700r4 sounds good, but a good bit of parts hunting, and it's a pretty penny to get someone to do it for you.
I want to ask this and see what kind of responses I get. A little bit of this has been discussed around the site, but I'm looking for some direct answers to these questions . A lot of people on here think I'm crazy for trying to chase storms in a military vehicle, but I want to say that...
