Iv'e alredy dissconneted the batteries, I have no intention of moving it until I find out what's going on. Going to spend a good bit of quality time with the TM's.
Ok,, This weekend I changed my oil and installed Jaktona's spin on oil filter kit.
Used Rotella 15/40 with one gallon Lucas.
Drove the truck a good 400 miles under various load conditions, At least 150 miles at 50 MPH/2200/2300 RPM and now it sounds like I have a knock in #6 cylinder.
My oil...
Changed the oil and installed spin on adapters.
Put the cab cover on.
Regisered and insured it
Geased all the fittings
Drove it about 400 miles here there and everywhere( Including the beach.)
And now,,,, Sounds like I have the beginnings of a rod knock,,,,:cry...
Oh yeah,, I worked with a Vietnam vet (He retired two weeks ago) And when he found out that I had bought a Deuce he told me some stories,,, I still remember his eyes lighting up when he saw it in the lot at work.
He and I are going out to dinner tomorrow evening before he takes off, Seriously...
So,,,, I took the deuce out yesterday to warm it up in peperation to change the oil,
Right before I reach my driveway I meet one of my neighbors coming the other way so I get halfway in the ditch to let him by and as he goes by he gives me a big ear to ear grin and a thumbs up!
I know it's not...
OK no problem, No lets see if I can get the pics to upload. Total install time was about an hour. I can't help but think that it'll go quicker with a ready made kit.
Let me get home and I'll give you a part number that works for a switch, I'll see if I can get pics of my plumbing job too. I put in my own air switch upgrade over the Easter weekend and I think the total cost was just under $30.00 with all parts available locally.
I hqad the same problem a couple of days ago, Just a bad ground although I am replacing the eletric gauge with a mecanical temp gauge. Little disturbing to look down and see the temp gauge pegged out,,,,
Going to replace my brake light switch today (I hope) I am going to run into town and see if I can get an air brake switch from one of the truck repair shops and plumb it in like in this thread. Will give part numbers if I am succesful...
Wanted one since I was a kid, Also wanted something that I could splatter a wild hog with and not have a $3000.00 + repair bill.
Besides, It's just fun to drive!:D
Where are you at Tah? I am about 130 miles away (little town close to Corpus Christi)
Did you get it home?
maybe I could take a look at it Easter weekend for you.
They were running the bikes out there today, Could hear them from where we were in the hangar.
Must have been a good day, Only heard the ambulance once,,,,
