    Truck driver woes... Cautionary tale

If the shipper failed to inform the drivers (or the broker that booked the loads) then it was on him. When I was a driver nothing pissed me off worse than getting hosed on a pickup. People who try to get something for nothing make it hard on everybody in the end. The last company I worked...

M916 with a cargo bed and 16.00R20 tires?

Bigger is better. A M920 with a 20 foot bed off of a M927 would be better, with the three axle set up you would never overload it. Or lose the tag axle and some weight and have a long wheelbase. HEMMT rims and tires would look outstanding on it.

    Not for sale...

I learned my lesson the hard way with one of my former M915's.......my buddy showed up in the back yard with a guy in tow that wanted to look at my "Army truck". This was a cherry M915 that still had the paint on the 5th wheel and low miles since a complete rebuild in 2006. The old guy...

    5 ton advice

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy. :cookoo: The one thing you should definitely do is bring it to the GA Rally in Oct. Since MV's are herd animals it will have a good time among it's fellow vehicles. Threads about the rally will be posted soon.

Adding multipurpose hydraulics to the deuce

I have a mad scheme to take two rear axles and make an articulated skidder type vehicle using a deuce engine/tranny I have as a spare. The setup is still in the frame and includes the radiator, clutch, etc. My idea is to have a live hydrolic system like the above mentioned and to be able to...

MA, 5 Ton, CDL, MA RMV

Don't take this as a personal attack....just an observation from someone who was a Drivers Trainer and License Examiner (Road Tester). Getting a CDL is not rocket science or a big ordeal if you are educated at least to a 7th grade level (that is what miltary TM's and FM's are written on)...

    M923 Bow Height

My M927 has high side bows......I can stand up in it....something I could never do in a regular duece or 5 ton....I'm not so sure it's not a field modification but the cover does not look like it has been altered.

Rush hour traffic..(Beware attempt at humor)

The LAW (Light Anti-tank Weapon) was a one shot, throw away weapon used against thin skinned armored vehicles (shoot a real tank with it and you will only piss the occupants off) and fortifed positions. To part the waters you need a MK-19 40mm grenade launcher and, as stated above, a plow to...

    Wreckerman to Redstone

I'm 80 miles away so I can make it up and back in a day no sweat. I usually get an early appointment and I have a good working relationship with the GL crew up there. I have an 0800 appointment for next Wed. I'm picking up some of the 24 volt pumps that sold last week....unless I get...

10 ton radiator and tranny NOS

While the 10 ton is not the most collectible beast there are those souls out there with a machochistic streak that love them. Someone out there will be on those parts like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

Replacing spring in a springer seat with a air bag ?

I have some small airbags that I was going to use for that purpose so they are available. You may have to fab the mounts, air valve inflater/deflater and the plumbing for the lines.
