    Replacing M1008 exhaust system

Pretty much all the piping on my truck is shot. I can modify a existing system if I need to. Just hate to spend the money on something new I know isnt going to fit. My plan is for 50 series flowmasters on the truck. I've heard 40's and delta 40's can be rather obnoxious on long trips

    built snorkel today

what degree bends/elbows did you use with the ABS pipe. I think it looked good even with the ABS. The exhaust pipe looks even better, but one nice thing with the ABS is you break it, run down to Lowes or the Depot and pick up another piece. I would consider sinking it into the quarter panel a...

    Replacing M1008 exhaust system

so you used the same system on a gas and a diesel truck? everyone is telling me the manifolds exit differently on a diesel and you cant use a gas system.

    Replacing M1008 exhaust system

So after half the exhaust system fell off my truck. I suppose I now have to replace it. I want to run a dual system like the factory one that came with the truck. I talked to a few muffler shops and they all wanted $600 or more, no beuno. LMC has a replacement sytem for around $225, ok but uses...

    Ruasch Creek 2010 Trip

No vibrations, yes on the wheelspacers. 2" in front 1.5" in back. I made the spare tire carrier myself. It's mostly 2" galvanized box tubing. It works ok, needs alittle tweeking but serves its purpose. I got my springs from ORD. Had to call to get them. Just a warning though, the bias ply hummer...

    Ruasch Creek 2010 Trip

I got it online, I think the place was called discountramps.com I have temporary no drill support bars on it, but a THULE universal (drilling required) track mount system is in my future. The setup you see in the pics allows the rack to shift forward while wheeling (heavy bumps) rendering my...

2010 Fall Rausch Creek MV Rally!!!

I should be there, newly installed rebuilt IP and some PM so truck should be willing. Gonna drag the trailer with me too. Co-Pilot not so sure yet. I've been on many of the trails there with my M1008 chasing jeeps. And I have plenty of abstract body work to show it. dueces and the like will...

    Official 2010 haspin info thread

My truck is fighting me tooth and nail. I'm on to the injector pump now. Still in the air if I'm comming. But if I do it'll probably be another 3am arrival.

    Parting out an M1009?

I'm looking for a good un-cracked radiator fan shroud. Hows yours?

Pic thread? Looking for m1008's with minimal lift.

4 inch lift, 36" goodyear Military Hummwe wheels and tires, no trimming. Slight rub on a turn n' bump in a rut.

    M1008 Rear disc Brakes

Looks like a nice setup, but I think it would be a little nicer to use more current calipers and rotors, unless thats what GM used on the first disc brake trucks. Thats on my list to do after the injection pump gets rebuilt.

    I Got My M1009 Stuck

My recovery weapon of choice is a 16 ton rated French miltary surplus armor tow rope. I'll break something on my truck before it does. However a large winch (10-12K) and most likely hydraulic, is deffinately in my future.

    Runflat size comparison

I was wondering about the size of the magnesium runflat from the older 8 bolt style beadlocks comapred to the one or two peice rubber runflats of the newer 12 bolt style wheels. Are they both the same width. I seem to remember reading in one of the TMs that early 12 bolts had magnesium...

    CUCV Pintile Hitch

if you go to a real truck shop, they sell swiveling pintle hitches for dump trucks and such. and you can buy the drop hitches with ajustable plates to mount them to for a 2" receiver. It'll be a bit pricey, but it's out there. You could make one out of the cucv stuff. But cutting the hole in the...

    need opinions

I do really like a nice 3 color woodland camo paint job. But if you go to any of the MV events/rallies you will notice that 90% or better are always Green. If my truck where tan like yours I'd keep it that way just to be alittle different, but still be militray correct. If I ever decide not...

Starter just died, looking for a new one i think..

There's a good Starter/Alternator/generator shop by me. And he'll work on anything you can bring into him 12v, 24v, etc...except airplane stuff (need a special license). The gear reduction starters spin faster than the stock starters period. They are usually much cheaper than new original...
