quote=Crackerjax;509229]if you want a decent transmission go for a manual it will last forever and will do better on gas mileage get a sm465....and put in 3.08 gears... youll be fine
Thats what I'm looking to do. Problem is that most vendors only support up to 3.55's for the 14 bolt rear D60...
Well, I'm still gonna check to see for sure before I financially commit to another truck and the swap. But I still for the life of me can't imagine these truck not being machined for a pilot bearing.
A few decent civilian parts trucks are about to become available to me and I want to do a NP465/np208 or A883/np208 swap in my M1008. However I keep hearing that during this period some trucks came from GM with automatic only crankshafts. To do a manual swap on one of those would require a new...
I'm willing to bet that the splines on your front driveshaft might be worn out. I had a 88 fullsize Jimmy that this hapened to. If the dust seal fails and you don;t lube the driveshaft regularly they wera thesplines out fast. If I held it in my hand it felt good, put a pipe wrench on it and try...
Thats pretty much what I do now. I have a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers 285/75/16's on the stock wheels. I use them until I know I'm going 4 wheeiling somewhere or if I'm going to a rally or show I throw the beadlocks back on. Don't be scared to use the 36's They are a good inexpensive large...
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I can be. But shouldn't the wellman G070's be 24 volt as well. Which is why you can't use Ac Delco 60G's or other civilian glow plugs unless you convert to a 12 volt electric system?
I used Tuff country HD spring up front. Couldn't give you a part number, I got them from Off Road Design. Right now I have lift blocks and a zero rate in the back. After I fix my floors I'm goona remove the blocks and do a shackle flip in the back. With the 36's you pick up about 5 mph. So I...
4 inch lift, 2 inch wheel spacers no fender trimming. hard offroading they rub. @ 6k miles no issues. Use your brain when buying and installing them, don't be lazy and check them once in awhile. You'll have no issues
Well, I definately want to come again this year. Absolutely worth the 15 hour trip. Just need dates. Vacation scheduling time is fast approaching for us and I don't want to miss out on this.
wach out the "US NAVY For official use only". Of all people homeland security pulled me over one day driving home for work one day because from whatever rediculous angle he saw me from while I was doing 50 mph no less he could read the "US Army for official use only" that had already been...
Hope to make a return trip to Haspin for 2010. This year was alot of fun. Hopefully someone decides on a firm date in the somewhat near future. One of the unfortunate pitfalls to working for the city is I have to pick my vacation almost a year in advance and I can't change it once I pick it.
Funny thing was, it really wasn't that deep. I went through it on friday and it was only up to my hubs. Nice to see a few pics of me made it here. Hated having to leave but still enjoyed being there.
Yeah, with mine. I just dimpled it with a punch, then used a pick and just spun the broken piece out. Just a note though, mine broke with the brace on. Although I suspect it was due to it being a tad loose.
