I had a problem with a Gen. battery some years back. I had it on charge, then I took it off the charger and about a min. later I hit the starter and the battery blow up.
Luckily I was on the other side of the Gen.
My M923A1 had the same problem with the tank. Glad you found it.

Must be one of the check valves is not working. Look at the P2P software in the 5 ton manual area and that will help you.

You need to look for the timing mark on the Harmonic Balancer and pointer on the front of the motor, The pointer needs to be on the mark and cylinder one valves needs to be closed.
Remember you may have to turn it over 360 degrees to get and that line up. You can have it 180 out if you do not...
