I ordered 3 different insulating materials from summit. I checked into the ceramic coatings and they are way to expensive for what the accomplish. The specs on most only show a 100 degree drop from the inside heat to the outside temp of the pipe. The pipe wraps have much better performance. I...
they look like the Hutchinson bead lock wheels the border patrol used. I have a set on my 1009. can't buy that wheel anymore to my knowledge. I have been looking for one wheel for my spare. I only have a set of 4
i like the chrome better than the pink ones. looks good. those tires look like good off road performers.
looks like it also took a little more trimming.
did you have to bend the brake lines from the master cylinder. i would like to do the same compressor on my rig so post up details when you can. I got several other items on my list before i get to the air.
Thanks
rig looks good

have not started on the hood but got all of the exhaust to the roof done. I removed the connections to the snorkel. it is not needed. All it did was transfer noise. The pipe is sturdy enough to have support at the fire wall and then again once the roof rack is done. the exhaust is all rubber...
I have made more progress, work keeps getting in the way and I keep running out of wire in my welder. I went to a smaller wire and it fixed the feed problems I was having. My welding has greatly improved. My grinder is getting a lot less work.
I ditched the flex exhaust pipe for now, you...
I have looked at it and considered it but the only access is small holes at visors and a couple in the door jamb. the metal is pretty thin and any expanding foam would be impossible to get good coverage without a ton of relief holes on the inner skin. And would most likely bubble the exterior...
I thought the humvee turbo's were center mount. i don't have a humvee and never worked on one but i thought they were a center mount turbo and not a side mount. please correct me so i will know in the future
i read that also with my build. not sure why the say that, the flywheel has a dowl pin so i only goes on one way, this gets the weight in the right place. with regards to the torque converter, it bolts up as long as the holes line up which it does in any possition. there are no weights on the...
mine usually run around 100 degrees but this is with highway driving. never checked with city driving but when I first got my truck back on the road after lift, I checked them often. If you were on the brakes a lot that will add some heat. They should be the same so you may want to look closer...
sorry to hijack the thread.
Carnes family moved there in early 1920's, we still have 50 of the 150 acres my great grandfather bought. about a mile outside of town on 2968. the bottom of the hill right before the curve on the right when headed toward I20. small town guaranteed my grandparents...
still waiting on the remaining exhaust parts. I need a few more pieces including some flex pipe. the section between the turbo and muffler is going to get about 8 inches of flex pipe.
while I have been waiting I have been working on my trash box/intake transition. it will have four inch pipe...

here is the thread. shows my front receiver and the winch mounting plate
I can dig up more pictures. but the measurements are easy, it just goes rail to rail (inside) with about 1/4 inch of slop (1/8 inch each side) The reason you have to remove the bumper is because it slides in under the tie down bracket bolts. you have to slide it in from the front, the center...
yes, does not interfere, they are on the outside of the frame rails. everything here is on the inside. The frame has curves in it so i just stacked washers in the middle bolt to make up for the curve. I built my plate to go from the bumper to the front cross member so it is difficult to get the...
here is a pic of my front receiver. just flat plate between the bottom frame rails with a tractor supply purchased reciever tube and some additional flat bar. I used 3/8 steel for the plate and flat bar so it is heavy duty. mine is used for my front winch mount. works great and the tube is snug...
snorkel welding done now ready for paint
finished the snorkel with the exception of some clean up before paint. The shop did an excellent job on welding the pipe sections. my welding of the mounting tabs are not near as good but definitely structurally sound. The snorkel is firmly attached to...
I also got my PSC hose and fittings in today and replaced all of the high presure hydraulic lines with:

I was using stainless braided PFTE lines from...
Snorkel almost done
I did not take your comments in any negative way, I enjoy the feed back,
my banks air filter box did not have a drain on the bottom, it for some reason had a small slit at the bottom of where the intake hose connects, like it was made with a band saw blade. I filled it...
