I looked at the pre-cleaners but they are very large. There is an air filter prior to the turbo. Where the pipe transitions to the flex hose, it will drop lower than the air cleaner and give a place for anything to collect. Any small amounts of water should stay in the bottom of the sag.
The...
snorkel head
i received the snorkel head. I just need to do some final grinding and then all the parts are ready to weld for the snorkel. i have to finish it first because the exhaust will have brackets that attach to the snorkel brackets. it is very sturdy now with the thicker metal on the...
freeze plugs are beside the starter not above. it is either a small freeze plug in the heads or the head gasket. I think all the small freeze plugs in the heads are on the ends so it is most likely a head gasket. you can leak fluid but not have a blown head gasket at the cylinder. this is...
snorkel and exhaust progress
made some progress today. the snorkel tube will have to connect to the air cleaner with a flex hose. I purchased a 130 degree bend to try and make it hard pipe but the bend is to large to fit in the space available.
I need to get some metal plate to make the...
snorkel and exhaust
got the spintech parts. best to look at the pics to see what I am doing. The 4 inch will be the snorkel. The exhaust is 3 inch. The U-bends will be cut and made into s bends with a tilt to follow the windshield. A dog house will be built into the hood and the exhaust...
put the new motor on and I still do not have intermittent functions. High and low work. low does not have much power, with a dry windshield they stick. On high the work good. The wipers also work with the wash function but no intermittent. both switches I have do the same thing. I think I am...
i did mine, the switch in my tilt column is new. it took about 4 hours to do. you need two tools to do it. the spring compressor and there is a piviot pin removal tool (i think that is what it is called) I bought both tools and did the job when i first installed the column. I took pictures...
I am not aware of the cucv having an idiot light for the transmission. To my knowledge there are not any sensors or locations for one on the th400. the only option I know of is to T the line going to the radiator so you get the temp right as it is exiting the transmission
The only realistic solution is a banks turbo kit. It is probably the cheapest hp gain and it is not a large gain but it does wake the engine up a lot and gives you better throttle response. The turbo helps with altitude sickness the NA diesel has. IF you spend the money on reworking heads with...
I ordered a motor today. At this time no one (local parts store or rock auto) has the motor with the washer pump so I will have to get a separate pump. They had to get it from another store so I pick it up tomorrow.
wont be able to work on it again until Sunday night
currently waiting on my spintech exhaust parts. They shipped today and I should have them next Tuesday.
going to order new lines for the power steering high pressure. I am going to use the same rubber lines that go from the pump to the hydro ram on the axle. I have to get longer lines for...
When the water pump is installed i put a large magnet on my long socket so it holds the bolt. IF you drop the bolt then most likely it will get stuck around the timing gears and will have to remove timing cover. if you are lucky it makes it to the oil pan and you would have to remove the pan to...
you rotate the motor so that the mark on the camshaft gear is up, The ip gear has a mark that then lines up with the camshaft mark. I thought the ip has a peg that goes in the oblong hole in the ip gear. With the ip placed in the correct hole on the IP gear and all the marks lining up, you...
i am going to buy a new motor and with a test light start testing the module. from what i can see you just need to connect a ground to each of the input wires on the module and see what you get. each connection is a different setting. you can also test the switch to see which switch settings...
I am trying to diagnose my wiper problem. I have a new intermittant module (ac delco) and my switch is new (LMC)
I have plugged in two different motors and both act the same. They appear to work on low only (when the switch is on high) and do not park. Any other switch location does nothing...
I think it is the gauge or sending unit. i don't think it is actually that hot. I will get another IR gun if i can't find mine this week. I have Flow Kooler pump, brand new spectra copper radiator. I am using stock fan and clutch at this time, may change to a better fan. At this time I have no...
I got the throttle position sensor fixed and also went through the programming of the controller. I have the shift1 controller and may upgrade in the near future to the shift 4. The shift 1 does not have shift firmness adjustment at light throttle at each gear like the shift 4. The shift 4 has...
did not check the wires today, they are easy to get to, the wire colors from my harness do not match and all the connectors are the same so I was just guessing when I connected them.
I will work on that tomorrow night. I did get a new oil pressure sending unit and now the gauge works fine. at...
